Repugs got it devastatingly wrong, saying the anti-war group are
the ones siding with evil.

Think about this.

Can't remember the name of the guy from France who "appeased" Hitler prior to 1939. All you evil DUers will immediately supply it to me.

Anyway, the story is that the France guy met with Hitler and got the assertion that Hitler was just a nice guy who wouldn't do any nasty things.

Well, that entire analogy applies to Rumsfeld. After denying it forever, the video surfaced with Rummy shaking hands with Saddam, around the time of the "gassing of his own people".

Rummy (and therefore Reagan & Bush41) went to Iraq, got an assertion that Saddam was really a nice guy, and came home and kept backing his reign of terror. After kissing his oil-covered ass, Saddam turned around, practically with the blessing of the US, and invaded Kuwait. The US, embarassed, had to go to war.

The reality is, prior to August 1990, we lefties, the liberals, Amnesty International, and company were the "Chicken Littles" screaming about what a bad guy Saddam was, and the French Rumsfeld, Reagan, and Bush41 accepted SH's word. Even a few congressmen went to Iraq and came back, months before the invasion, and said about how "strong" a leader Saddam was.

So, we are not "the French", the Republican apologists to this administration are the ones who should be compared to that hapless French leader. They supported and armed Saddam Hussein, and when the snake bit them on the ass, they tried to paint us as the ones who would rather have him back.

When it comes to shredding incriminating documents, they're going to make Ollie and Fawn look like schoolkids with safety scissors.

4. Oh, great. This will probably get me on that turd's mock list again
A few months back, I made an error where I said that Bush was doing business with Iraq until Aug 1990.

Even though I was corrected and admitted my mistake, this guy chose to highlight this as "those stoopid liberals can't get their lies straight".

Watch this one get twisted there also.

2. M. Petain
But Neville Chamberlain was close -- he was a Brit.

I agree, though -- democracy isn't appeasement. But the Conservatives' tactics are pretty close to those of the NSDAP in Germany at the same time.

5. Sickening, isn't it?
I was writing letters protesting aid to Saddam in the 80s to my congresscritters, who passed legislation blocking it, which was promptly vetoed by Reagan and Bush the 1st. I'm sick and tired of listening to accusations of being a Saddam lover from human vegetables who couldn't be bothered to put down their remotes to do the same.
