Posting,snarking,bitching,moaning,trashing,screaming,crying,laughing,arguing,ignoring..
This isn't activism..
This is entertainment.
You aren't helping your candidate or hurting the other.
You are only entertaining yourselves.
I was just checking in to see who all understands this?

3. Yeah, that's why I had to cut back so I can actually help Hilly...... so i decided to give up sleep
so I can keep my DU addiction.

9. A question for you.
Does the candidate that you support plan, as chief executive, to defend, protect, and execute the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution as the Oath of Office will require?

For reference, Here is The 14th Amendment, Section 1:

"Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

This apparently does not have any exclusions, such as "This does not apply to atheists, Muslims, the mental or physically challenged, or male/female homosexuals, bisexuals, transexuals or transgendered persons," and does not let states off the hook.

So, seeing as a failure now or in the future to support the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, fully and without reservation, will violate US law and the Presidential Oath of Office, does the candidate that you prefer support the 14th Amendment, and if they do not, do you support their immediate impeachment once they take the Oath of Office as the law demands?

18. He states: "My faith will not allow me to support gay marriage."
He also states he will try and "convince" the states to support "civil unions."

These are not equal, therefore they violate the 14th amendment.
The fed does not have to CONVINCE, under the 14th amendment they MUST COMPEL.

If he does not support BOTH of these, he is in violation of his oath as a Senator as well.

This Also includes Senator Clinton: this is and equal opportunity petard.

I don't believe Sen.Clinton would be any better on the issue honestly.
The guy who would be different isn't running anymore.

25. That is just my point: NONE of them are qualified to be president....
...because NONE of them can honestly take the oath and be telling the truth when they do.

Exceptions: Gore and Kucinich, which would have been a damned fine ticket if you ask me.

I consider it practice for dealing with wingnuts. I used to get my practice on Free Republic and other right-wing boards, but now I can get it here. Who saw THAT coming?

21. It's weird, but since I joined DU, I've become MUCH more politically active in my community.
My favorite grass roots project right now is working with a non profit group to provide health care to everyone in the state. Oh, and I'm a delegate to the next two Democratic conventions, plus attending every protest in which I can participate.

I'm also working on a campaign for a new Democratic representative for our House District, in the State House.

Not to mention my trip to Crawford in Aug 2005, when Cindy Sheehan first arrived, and attending that particular protest against the boy king.

All while reading and writing on the good old DU. Online and offline, it's been a change for the better, for me. :toast:
