I'm here because of Hillary
I'm here because Hillary has brought hope, inspiration, vision and unity to this country. I am proud of her ability to take adversity and rise above it, to respond to attacks by turning the other cheek, to turn a mistake into a lesson and an opportunity into a win.

She's my candidate and I'm proud of her. I'm certain she will be a great president.

4. I wish I could be so inspired by a DLC candidate
Too bad I can't.

Oh, I'd support her if she got the nomination but I don't think she will...unless her next smear actually works. Even then, I think she'd lose to McLame.

14. Hear, hear!!!!!!!!!
I'm also here because of her, even though it's getting harder for a Hillary supporter to be on this board. The vicious attacks against her and us are becoming tiresome and disappointing, I read more objectivity at the Freepers site.

Go Hillary!!!!!!!

25. "she has brought hope, inspiration, vision and unity"
Okay I missed that. When did it happen?

What are we hoping for? What are we inspired by? What is the vision? And how are you united with the over 50% of the country that disapproves of her and the 35% that STRONGLY disapproves of her?

I wish I had her adversity to rise above. I wish I had a spouse with half of the pension that her spouse does. Rising above adversity. Responding to "attacks" by turning the other cheek. :eyes:

So, in other words. For Obama to point out that a large part of the country hates Hillary is an attack. But for her to say that all Obama has is a speech he made in 2002 is not an attack.

42. I see the OP never bother to answer
neither did any other Hillary supporter.

Probably as progressives or Democrats our hope is for many of the same things. Ginsberg and Souter on SCOTUS instead of Alito or Roberts. Higher taxes on the wealthy, more regulation of corporations, more money for worthwhile programs, etc.

But Hillary inspires more fear in me than hope. Fear that she will energize the Republicans and cause losses all over the US (and particularly in my own district where we defeated a 5 term incumbent in 2006 because of low Republican turnout.) Fear that she will throw progressives under the bus and she brings DLC triangulation to control in the Democratic Party, and especially as she is more likely to cause and have to deal with a Republican Congress just like Bill did in 1994 with her help, and especially since she seems to have more corporate and wealthy support (and even in the campaign, she has loaded her proposals with tax credits which will mostly favor those with income between $50,000 and $120,000). Fear that progressive will have to fight a two front war. First, to take back what was once our party and second, to take back what was once our country.

Hillary supporters have no answer for those fears, except to gloat as the alternative gets torn down by her and the M$M and to assert without any factual basis that she has been fighting for women and children and progressive causes her whole life, and only Republicans hate her, and she really did not vote for or support the Iraq war, and that also, I guess, for a woman to ride her husband's coattails into the White House is somehow, all by itself, a victory for everyone and for all progressive causes everywhere.

But I am probably making the kind of strawman of the worst Clinton supporters. The sort of thing they love to kick to the front page when one of them creates a strawman of Obama supporters.

45. probably reject and denounce him
but I still have hope that will not happen. Right now I trust Edwards' judgement, but if he chooses wrong, he will have shown my trust to have been misplaced (as well as some of my money). But it won't change my support for the issues and policies he tried to advance.
