2. That's the most unfair poll I've ever seen
It's for Obama supporters only. Thanks a lot.

8. I don't know if I'm more confused or amused by
that tactic. Ignore everyone who disagrees with you, slash and burn your way through others two cents worth and then insist on unity.

18. It's Obamalogic. Reminiscent of "you're either with us or against us"
combined with a cult-like ignoring of reality.

because other people read our opinions.

14. Yes, but that's the Obama mentality.
DU = the whole world..... and if they can't see us then we don't exist.

23. "I've ever seen"???
Spoken like a visually-challenged teen-aged recluse. :eyes:

It's amusing to read statements that parade inexperience and naivete as some 'standard'. ... like a junior-high-schooler proclaiming having never been "as excited in my whole life!"

destroys our party in the GE.

6. I've noticed that after the "unity" speech
it's gotten worse in here. Th BO supporters are getting even more arrogant.

25. They See His (S)mile Wide
And their reflections in the inch deep.

Knee-jerk reactors, to a man.

Last week it was, this is such a BS non-issue, it'll go away immediately. Now, Obama's making a major speech to try and quell the backlash.

Give it a day or two for the rest of America (not the Obama choir) to evaluate and assimilate the damage-control work of the speech writers. And decide that it still doesn't explain the 20 years or the (at best) racially ambivalent comments in his books.

5. Wish I could choose more than one.
I donated money, I'll be heading to PA to help register voters, and when I get home I'm looking forward to doing a little phonebanking. :-)

16. And to think BO supporters
expect us to jump on board with them. This kind of onesided bullshit makes me run even further away from the "uniter".

19. Already volunteered.
Already gave money. But I'll do both again. Maybe some phone calls in the upcoming primary states.
Another thing that speech did for me today. I'm totally fried right now. I'm exhausted from being overwhelmed by his pure genius. He said so many things I've thought over the years, having been raised by ultra right wing conservatives whom I love dearly. I have hated the things they have said but I cannot exclude them from my life. The thing is, I recognize that they are the victims of a history of racism, having been taught to be racist yet not believing that they are. I am very sorry that they live in fear. They're also afraid of gays for some odd reason.
Anyway, I'll do all I can to help elect Obama.

22. Donate what little $ I can -- it's time.
I've never donated to any presidential campaign before but I'm going to do it at last.
He exceeded even my high expectations with his speech today, and I feel like my failure
to donate is like just being silent, as opposed to speaking up. His is the kind of
leadership I want for our country, so I need to put in my "two cents" (literally).

24. inspired me to be a better person
and to treat my repub bosses better. All people no matter who or what they believe deserve to be treated with respect.

I am nice to my bosses but behind their backs say things and reading his words reminded me to treat others as I would want to be treated.

26. clear my ignore list ...
But then responses to this thread--and a couple others--inspired me to fill it again.

I truly feel sorry for people who cannot be moved--by someone who's *on our side* nonetheless ... but not as sorry as I feel for those who must mock those who do feel moved. I always thought we were the party of compassion.
