3. Lies and more lies

Sample size for the democratic race poll is 1209, not 4000 (off by 75%).
Clinton doesn't do better againc McCain, one point is statistically worthless.

This is a good poll for Hillary. What is the need to spin and lie?

19. Those are REGISTERED voters

The DEMOCRATIC voters total, over 4 days, is 1209. Check in the gallup website, below the democratic poll, where it says "number of interviews". I take it that you've made a honest mistake though, so no hard feelings :hi:

But remember, its taken TEN DAYS of solid MSM bashing of Obama to elevate Clinton by that small amount.

I wouldnt count on that continuing for very long.

Then what do you think will happen to her small lead?

It's just one poll, taken in Obama's worst moment of the campaign. Other polls show him still leading. And he'll no doubt rebound very soon.

only about a 1000 remain after screening. That is standard.

33. Likely voter screen?
If they're not using one (and they shouldn't be at this point, but some polling firms do) then that's the right number for the GE result. If they are using a screen and don't tell us the number of LV's, that's a problem for us.

26. Folks see this for what it is.
Hilary had a big bump earlier on, and a big Obama sample rolled off the average.

The same, but opposite phenomenon, just occurred in the Rasmussen poll. The number here
will close after today, when the Hilary sample rolls off. And if O does well, the trend will reverse. It's up and down, up and down with these things. Why everyone panics or ejaculates at fluctuations in polling is beyond me.

35. Teaser, don't try to logic it out.
I've realized many on here do not understand daily tracking polls. One day's results does not mean anything, unless it proves to be a trend and that isn't known until a few days out. Right now, Clinton saw a bump and Obama took a hit because of this Wright thing. However, I see no evidence of this being a trend for Hillary.

I know you hate to hear this, but the speech has been widely criticized as much at has been widely praised. There are plenty of questions raised by it, and even some Obama supporters would agree.

45. That's still considered pre-speech , sorry
The effect of the speech will take few days until it reaches the vast majority of people. Most people would have not seen the speech by the time Gallup was on the phone asking those questions. And that’s given; Clinton now is where Obama was, about a week ago, so THE SWIFTBOATING FAILED.
And if Obama managed to get my very conservative 80 years old Grandparents to say it was the best speech they have heard in decades. Then I trust it had a lot more effect than people are giving it credit for.

the polls since yesterday's speech on Iraq and the one the day before on race issues are taken.

I for one will put money on the fact that this will be the other way around by the primar in PA.
