By Philip Klein

OMAHA, Neb. (Reuters) - Warren Buffett, the world's second wealthiest person, said on Sunday he had joined Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's economic advisory team.

Buffett has long been a critic of the tax policies of the Bush administration, which he believes favor the wealthy and big corporations over the middle class.

"I'm available if anyone wants to ask my view of anything," Buffett said of his involvement with Kerry at a news conference in Omaha, Nebraska, a day after the annual meeting of his Berkshire Hathaway Inc. .

Buffett said Kerry had asked him three weeks ago if he would be part of an economic advisory council that includes Robert Rubin, who was Treasury Secretary in the Clinton administration. Buffett said he had accepted.

2. Absolutely. Warren Buffett has been very critical of the Bush tax cuts.
Warren Buffett is admired all over the world. This will help Kerry with independents and Republicans, as well as Democrats.

Another incredibly rich guy for Kerry; he joins George Soros.

3. He advised Arnold for all of 3 days:
Then he advocated a repeal of the Proposition 13 for billionaires and millionaires. Arnold distanced himself from him after that blasphamy. He's all right!

4. Exactly
Warren Buffett is about as blue collar in attitude a billionaire could be. Believes the rich should pay more. He's frequently a critic of CEO gluttonly. Hates what rampant speculation can do (like hedge funds). Of course, he is still a capitalist, and some people here don't like that. I doubt I'd agree with him 100% (but then I doubt I agree with anyone 100%) but Buffett is OK in my book.
