Nader campaign flopped at Minneapolis May Day Parade
Various nature-related and anti-Bush displays drew cheers and applause. A few people carrying pro-Nader signs drew.... Silence. Utter silence. They looked embarrassed.

4. No link - I'm the reporter.
This huge annual event gets very little mention in the local media.

I goto another forum & one poster there says Nader is going to walk all over Kerry. I was hoping for a link to shove down his throat!

6. I was in the parade!
A bunch of us MN DK supporters walked in the parade, right behind the Lydia Lee for School Board people, and in front of a small contingent of Nader supporters. I can tell you that WE received much more applause and support from the crowd than Ralph's supporters did.

We also collected another 1600 signatures for our petitions going to the DNC, too. In fact, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak signed our petition for a cabinet-level Department of Peace! Of course we gave him a big cheer for supporting us, too!

It was a great day, and so cool to see all the support we got from the crowd for Dennis Kucinich and his issues. It was positive energy all around. Right after we started down Bloomington Ave, four giant puppets of Jesus, MLK, Gandhi and Mother Theresa joined in close behind us. With those four smiling down on us, the parade was a utter joy to participate in!

(BTW, I was with the Kucinich contingent, in the goofy purple hat, leading some of the chants! :hi:)
