Joe Scarborough, and Bill Clinton piss me off
Joe Scarborough keeps saying the same thing over and over and over.

"Democrats in Scranton, Pennsylvania... in Allentown, Pennsylvania... in Bakersfield, California" will never vote for a black person.

He likes to go on to list places, locations in America, that he perceives as racist, thus apparently in his line of thought, that are viewed as strongholds of so-called "Reagan Democrats" (an oxymoron if there ever was one). These are places that Scarborough believes agree with his own world-view... places that in Scarborough's mind would never vote for a black person for president, unless, perhaps, the candidate pandered to racist views.

In Joe's mind, blue-collar voters in majority-white areas can never be persuaded to vote for a non-white candidate. And that's just the way it is. Forever and ever, that's just the way it is. There's no need to even try to change that. That's just the way it is.

What a jackass. This is the same guy that thinks "Sweet Home Alabama" is a conservative anthem, after all.

And Bill Clinton pisses me off too, even if the video that I saw of him was on Joe's program.

Clinton was practically doing a Lewinsky on John McCain. What's up with that?

"McCain is an American hero. McCain is a great man. McCain is bipartisan. McCain is a man of principle."

McCain was against torture, until he voted for it.

Apparently, Bill Clinton would prefer a McCain presidency to an Obama presidency. What's the deal?

If you read this post, I greatly appreciate it. :D

Joe Scarborough and Bill Clinton, two Americans that I could live without.

3. He's about ready to make me cry.
This morning he's citing new polls saying that Obama support among independents is dropping...dropping...dropping...DRAMATICALLY and that they're flocking to McCain in droves. He's got Tucker Carlson on to explain why.

Tucker just called Hillary "one tough chick" and Joe told him they are going to get in trouble now. Tucker's trying to dig himself out of the hole by saying "No, no, I admire her, she's one of the toughest women politicians I know."

Tucker, when you're in a hole...quit digging.

8. Both Joe Scarborough AND Pat Buchanan
are really pissing me off. What is so disheartening is, they are genuinely reflecting the "values" of a lot of Americans.

But more than Scarborough, Buchanan is really showing what an old pig he really is. Mr. "Holy War" himself is clinging with every fiber of his being to the sound bites extracted from Rev. Wright in an effort to discredit Obama.

10. It's not that they reflect a racist minority that upsets me so much...
it's that they condone it. They condone and celebrate a narrow fearful mindset
and are paid major bucks to evangelize a closed-minded hateful theology on the airwaves.
And with the power of media behind them, they make it acceptable for people who are indeed
racist to never change ...because Joe says it's okay to be this way.

That is plenty to cry about.

2. Fuck Joe Scarborough, I wrote MSNBC a nasty letter yesterday
I am not watching that trash anymore. I can barely stand to watch CNN. Right now I am editing a master's thesis for someone and not listening to ANYTHING. No radio, no music, no TeeVee. :nuke: :nuke:

It's nice and quiet. And I can concentrate. :D

15. Good luck on your thesis, darlin'!
And trust me, you're better off not watching the news for awhile. It'll take, I think, another weekend before they're off the Black Preacher Story.

Isn't it maddening?

6. And if, by chance, he is right..................
.....is it still racist, or is it truthful reporting? It is, after all, his opinion. He is entitled one, despite your disdain, you know. Not everyone jumped on the bandwagon. Everytime someone opposes Obama, it is not racism, contrary to popular belief here.
I personally don't give a shit what Scarborough says, I don't watch his program. What I have seen here is a lot of people hollering racism at the least bit of opposition to the "chosen one". That, in itself, is racism, of a sort. If you do not allow or respect those who have differing opinions, your bias is just as bad as theirs. You wanna see what racism looks like? Look in the mirror.

I call em like I see em. I see folks on both sides using bad judgement here every day. Do I give a shit? No. It's an internet forum that doesn't even closely relate to the general populace. Why would I?

I've been here about as long as anyone. I know we have gone through many elections and have suffered many defeats in the recent past. I hope that changes this year. I hope we win. I see the Obama people as being much more devisive here than the Clinton people. Just my opinion....nothing else. I don't care if you like it or not. Doesn't matter. If a democrat wins, I win. I don't call names or badmouth our democrat candidates. Some do, and I doubt they give a shit if I care. It doesn't matter.

As long as we win in November, we, collectively, have won.

Sorry, but that dude is a fucking racist. He makes my skin crawl. He's the creepy kind that delivers it between the lines, so it is not always blatant. But it is there.

9. I don't watch him. I just catch glimpses of him sometimes when setting to record Keith
before I leave in the morning.

I'm always happier if I can get that task accomplished during commercials. But I do it daily because I like being able to easily undo the setting if I'm home and can record things myself.

13. Yeah, he's getting me all worked up this morning, too.
Bill Clinton as well... my God, he may as well just tell us all to vote for McCain in the fall. It's sickening.

I really need to stop starting my day watching Scarborough. I enjoy the show, but a smart friend of mine told me months ago, "Mark my words, as soon as it's apparent that Obama will be the nominee, you won't be able to stomach Joe Scarborough and Pals anymore."

Damn, those were some prescient words.

17. I am with you!!!! Today (Thurs) was really bad!! I am emailing him!
I heard JS last night on David G show saying Obama will be losing all his support because of Rev Wright and today he kept the tirade going on his show. (Tucker was with him too.) Rachel Maddow tried to bring up McCain's crazy Minister's on the Right's support but he screamed at her that wasn't true! I believe Rachel! Obama has said he doesn't always agree with Wright so enough.

Here are some of the Republican Minister darlings comments:

Republicans: Only Our Pastors Are Allowed To Say Crazy Shit
By: Blue Texan Tuesday March 18, 2008

http://firedoglake.com/2008/03/18/republicans-only-our-pastors-are-allowed-to-say-crazy-shit/

(snip)

The idea that America deserves terrorist attacks and other horrendous disasters has long been a frequently expressed view among the faction of white evangelical ministers to whom the Republican Party is most inextricably linked. Neither Jerry Falwell nor Pat Robertson ever retracted or denounced their view that America provoked the 9/11 attacks by doing things to anger God. John Hagee continues to believe that the City of New Orleans got what it deserved when Katrina drowned its residents and devastated the lives of thousands of Americans. And James Inhofe -- who happens to still be a Republican U.S. Senator -- blamed America for the 9/11 attacks by arguing in a 2002 Senate floor speech that "the spiritual door was opened for an attack against the United States of America" because we pressured Israel to give away parts of the West Bank. The phrases "anti-American" and "America-haters" are among the most barren and manipulative in our entire political lexicon, but whatever they happen to mean on any given day, they easily encompass people who believe that the U.S. deserved the 9/11 attacks, devastating hurricanes and the like. Yet when are people like Falwell, Robertson, Hagee, Inhofe and other white Christian radicals ever described as anti-American or America-hating extremists? Never -- because white Christian evangelicals who tie themselves to the political Right are intrinsically patriotic.

Well, yeah. Duh.

By all accounts, George Bush had private conversations with Pat Robertson about matters as weighty as whether to invade Iraq. Isn't that a big scandal -- that the President is consulting with an American-hating minister -- someone who believes God allowed the 9/11 attacks as punishment for our evil country -- about vital foreign policy decisions? No, it wasn't controversial at all.

John Hagee privately visits with the highest level Middle East officials in the White House and afterwards pronounces that they're in agreement. John McCain shares a stage with Hagee and lavishes him with praise, as Rudy Giuliani did with Pat Robertson. James Inhofe remains a member in good standing in the GOP Senate Caucus. The Republican Party has tied itself at the hip to a whole slew of "anti-American extremists" -- people who believe that the U.S. provoked the 9/11 attacks because God wants to punish us for the evil, wicked nation we've become -- and yet there is virtual silence about these associations.

19. His goal is the same of many hard-core Republicans
Just a little bit more nuanced than Limbaugh, for instance. The Republicans want to run against Hillary. So if he has to chronically trash a fine person like Barack Obama in order to get what they want, oh well, that's politics. His behavior this morning is appalling. But his words do reveal something extremely significant. In his commentary which he thinks reflects that of the middle class factory worker in Ohio on Wright, whom he has accused of overt racism, those voters shunning Obama after his historic speech are so much more racist than Wright can ever be.

The only advantage to hearing this propaganda openly spewed is that it lets Obama know what he must do to overcome this. He has to win without the white middle class factory worker's vote. He must drive the turnout in the Democratic party to even new heights. And so if you are an Obama supporter and want to see him prevail, you must help. We can win without the prejudiced voters about him Scarborough chronically speaks.

Question: when Obama closed huge gaps between his numbers and those of Hillary Clinton in previous races, those races where she was earlier leading by large, double-digit numbers, did I miss Scarborough's commentary on her numbers "tanking?" Or did that commentary just not happen ....
