For those who weren't paying attention until this year, here's a quick summary of how the media tries to destroy Democrats.
1990s - Bill Clinton was persecuted by the GOP and the corporate media echo chamber from day one. Actually even before he started running. They passed on all the GOP lies and made-up scandals. Even the NY Times practically invented Whitewater. Hint: The Clintons LOST money in Whitewater. Then there was fake scandal after fake scandal. They accused him of rape and murder. Special Prosecutor Ken Starr spend millions and millions trying to get him on something. What did they get? He was weak when a goupie wanted to give him a BJ. That was it. Ken spent more on trying to get Clinton than we spent on investigating 911. Sick.
2000 - Al Gore was attacked for his clothes. His sighing during the debates (yet they didn't attack W for excessive blinking). He was accused of lying about EVERYTHING. They claimed he said that he invented the internet. He never said that exactly. They claimed he lied about being the inspiration for Love Story. Actually, he WAS partly the inspiration for Love Story. It goes on and on. He should have been more forceful in his rebukes, but this pre-911, and being nice was the thing, not being STRONG. Then the media piled on lies about the Florida coup. They passed on every pro-W thing they could and ignored the pro-Gore stuff. They ignored what really happened there entirely to be truthful. In other countries what happened in Florida would have lead to a Revolution, but not here. The media helped W with his coup. After it was all over, with W installed for some time, the Media Consortium finally recounted all the votes in Florida and found that, if all the votes that could be clearly for a candidate were counted, Gore would have won. But the media hushed it up. Even Drudge had a report that Florida should have gone to Gore, but the media were part of the Coup so, unlike the missing blonde bimbo of the week, it was barely touched by the Corporate media. It should have been front page news for a month. But no.
2004 - Kerry. Well, first the media destroyed Howard Dean for screaming YeeeHaaaa too loudly. Hint: it was a noise cancelling microphone that made it sound even louder that it would if you could hear the crowd better. Then the media happily passed on all the cute photos painting Kerry as an elitist or nut. Like the wind surfing and the dress up photo of Kerry in what looked like a sperm suit. Later? Swiftboating. They helped the swiftboat liars by repeating all their lies.
So, as per our next nominee, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet!
