4. Let's get fire permits in all major cities and have bonfires
We can publicly burn Disney movies and paraphernalia and grab the attention of everyone.

3. Harvey Weinstien of Miramax
Is one of the largest contributors to the Democratic Party. He was Democrat of the Year several years ago in New York. Boycott Disney but support Miramax. Write Harvey and express your opninion. Maybe he can get anothter distributor. But Miramax does have ties with Disney.

5. Jeb Bush has threatened tax reprisals.

According to Disney they are acting to protect tax breaks they have received in Florida by refusing to distribute anything of a definite political nature. Understandable.

Fortunately, this does not prevent anyone else from distributing it.

Unfortunately, Disney isn't going to waive their share of the profits making this less attractive to potential distributors.

On the other hand if this produces controversy ... it provides tons of free advertising.

But then again anyone distributing this is going to find themselves threatened by boycotts.

So this is where someone has to create a distribution company from scratch (i.e. install a new phone on someone's desk in the existing distribution companies offices) then fold it up afterwards. Tax breaks abound!

8. Do you have a link for that?
From what I have read, Disney was concernred that the film would anger Jeb and cause them to lose the tax breaks. But there was no indication that Jeb had actaully made any threats. If he did, it would quite a scandal for him.

6. They pulled the same shiat with Dogma back in '99.
Miramax gave it to Lions Gate. Same deal will probably happen here. The film WILL be out before the election.

Later.

Do you seriously think that Lions Gate will get it out in time or...
even at all.

I am LITTERALLY praying for Disney's bankruptcy!

9. Sure they will.
Lions Gate is almost known for controversy nowadays. Aside from Dogma, they released a fantastic movie called Happiness - a movie that, while semi-ensemble-based, had a pedophile as its lead and had him as a tortured father who hated himself for his urges. If they could stand up during that mess, they can do it during this.

If not Lions Gate, maybe Focus Features. They're the new hot "new Miramax" studio due to their releasing Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But then, they're owned by Universal, and I'm sure their theme parks gets tax breaks by Jebbie.

Whoever does end up with the movie, I'm SURE Moore will have it IRONCLAD in the contract that the film will be released a month or more before the election. He's not stupid.

Later.
