Very interesting website. They just entered Kucinich...it will be interesting to see how he fares considering he is 6 weeks behind! As you will see, the rest of the world views us very differently that we view ourselves...you may be surprised at the results ...I was!

(Great PEACE posters to download too!!)

The US Election for the Rest of The World
Only one vote counts and you must be in a country other than the U.S.A.
See how each country is voting
He who walks with peace walks with Him - The Holy Koran

Let's help the U.S. figure out who their president should be.
Lord knows they spend a lot of time 'helping' other countries with theirs.

5. A couple of gifts for you:
While you want DR to get REAL, I won't demand that you GET anything; I'll offer it to you as a gift out of the goodness of my heart. Here ya go.

Gift # 1: Civility. 2a civilized conduct: esp: courtesy, politeness.--Webster's 11th Collegiate

Gift # 2: A clue. An abundance of clues. 1: something that guides through an intricate procedure or maze of difficulties. 2: idea, notion--Webster's 11th collegiate.

Some information you seem to have missed somewhere along the way:

Kucinich, and Kucinich supporters, are not trying to defeat Kerry. I could provide links and quotes, but they've been posted here at DU many times already. The point is not to defeat Kerry.

The point of a "US Election for the rest of the world" is to take a snapshot of how the rest of the world views us. They don't get to vote. They don't get to "beat" Kerry.

Obviously, at least according to the rest of the world visiting this website and casting their vote, they agree that they want to get rid of Bush. Perhaps why he has only 4.24% of the vote after 6 weeks. The real question is: what kind of leader does the rest of the world want to work with? An interesting exercise, but has nothing to do with the fact that they are going to get Kerry. Only of interest to those who think we ought to be forging partnerships with the world.

Gift # 3: Dennis Kucinich does, indeed, have more than a chance. He is already achieving the current goal, which is to shape and influence the direction of the democratic party.

8. thank you
that was a very decent gesture. Lets all work together to save this country.

LWolf is correct, Kucinich has no illusions of winning the nomination but in a very real, down to earth way is contributing to the effort for the betterment of the Democratic party, the country and the world. We should all be thankful we have someone who cares as deeply as Dennis.

6. I think you missed the point of the post, glarius
:hi: and right on LWolf :hug:

The point is, I am interested in what the rest of the world has to say.... and I found it pretty darn interesting that the REST OF THE WORLD WANTS KUCINICH to be in this poll.....and you can also see that NADER who doesn't have a snowball's chance here is faring better than our own Dem nominee.
If that doesn't tell you something then I guess *sheep speak* is all you want to hear. So stick your fingers in your ears and continue to chant baaaa baa baaa.

Our community is a global one and its time we figured that out and started to play a bit nicer and less like a swaggering bully...and that includes all of us, not just our politicos.

As far as getting real,well... I just love it SOOO much when someone who doesn't know me tells me I am living in dreamland...oh I wish I could...this is more like the frikkin twilight zone where no one can think for themselves anymore.

Peace
DR

9. Great to hear Dennis Kucinich on Al Franken show...Not one thread
on all of DU about Kucinich being on, he was his usual clam passionate great self....but that's what he has to put up the mainstream press ignoring him and even fellow Democrats...

Instead they post stupid shit like a Randi Rhodes contest.

DK is still at it dedicatedly getting his great democratic message out there to as many people as he can reach.

Here is the latest from Dot Maver...

Dear Kucinich Supporters,

Your contributions, continued strength and optimism are fueling a tireless campaign whose message is having a powerful impact:

• Growing confidence among voters that together we CAN influence the Democratic Party platform;
• Tens of thousands of signatures on petitions that will send a message to the Party's Platform Committee (sign and download at http://www.kucinich.us/petitions );
• The registration of tens of thousands of new Democrats from the ranks of independents, third-party members, and citizens who have never before voted;
• A heightened awareness of the importance of participating in the political process, especially among those who have felt disenfranchised;
• Increased recognition of the importance of openness and integrity in electoral politics;
• Enthusiastic standing-room-only crowds in Oregon and elsewhere around the country who want to hear our message; and
• A high volume of traffic to our website, www.kucinich.us, generated by news and events, and by positive - not negative - advertising.

This campaign continues to go forward, with your support, to give voters a voice to say what must be said -

• We must end the occupation of Iraq and bring our troops home!
• We must provide universal single payer health care for all!
• We must respect the civil liberties of every individual!
• We must repeal unfair trade agreements, restore American jobs, and guarantee environmental protections, workers' rights and human rights!
