Reverse thinking on Obama / Clinton
Let's for a minute reverse the names and the facts on the ground:

Candidate Obama has won only a fraction of the number of states Candidate Clinton has won,
is behind in both delegate and popular vote counts, and his campaign is almost in the red.

He has won over only one Super Delegate in the last several weeks while losing others previously pledged to him. Meanwhile Candidate Clinton has $30 million in the bank, leads--and has lead for weeks--in the delegate count, popular vote, and number of states won.

There has been a steady stream of Super Delegates coming out for her including two former rivals for the nomination. Please tell me Democrats and the MSM would still be talking about a neck and neck race and not about the folly of Candidate Obama staying in.

Just as everyone watched Huckabee in amusement while McCain assumed the mantle
of his party weeks ago Democrats would have clearly been doing the same around their obvious candidate.

In reality it is only the Clinton brand name that is now keeping her in the race and thus putting the Democratic party in turmoil and at risk. Can you imagine the outcry that would be happening among Democrats if Candidate Obama was causing a potential Convention floor fight by stubbornly staying in?

3. If "candidate Clinton" can't get to 2024, then Candidate Obama has every right to hang in there. NT

5. Truth is, you don't know what people would do or think...
so speculation about what would happen "if" is both self-serving and pointless. There are rules in place to determine the nomination and both campaigns should do all they can to see their candidate emerge victorious.

Personally, although I support HRC, if their situations were reversed, I'd say the same thing to Obama that I do to Hillary: "Play by the rules -- and don't quit until those rules officially say you're licked."

6. Yep, if Obama was broke, and had no better than a 10% chance, and was
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 01:15 PM by wienerdoggie
only going to keep or increase that 10% chance by fighting dirty, and praising the enemy to diminish his rival, and calling his rival unamerican, and suggesting he does not love his country, and trying to drive up his rival's negatives, and simply waiting around for a bad gaffe or smear job to exploit the way a Republican would--well, Obama would have been asked to bow out by the party.

8. must be an Arkansas thing...
Hillary and Bill spent a lot of time there and Huckabee was from there. I reckon' they don't go for that higher Math in Arkansas.

I would love to see a SNL skit of Huckabee explaining this new Math he learned to Hillary about her chance of winning.. LOL

No offense to anyone from Arkansas, IT'S A BEAUTIFUL STATE.
