10. Don't show your ignorance. His recent sold-out 60th Birthday Concert in MSG was also
a later TV hit.

Oh---and if you question whether a legend like Elton John is "still alive" at only 60, you're too young.
BTW---Paul McCartney is still alive, too.

17. He was a great songwriter in the early 70s. His work for "The Lion King" doesn't count.
And shit, he couldn't even give Princess Di a new song, he had to recycle his Marilyn tune.

19. Oh, come ON. It's the fucking truth.
The guy wrote some great stuff, but it was a long time ago. He's an artist, not a fucking Faberge Egg. He's not somehow exempt from artistic criticism.

22. Lets see. "He was a great songwriter in the Early 70s", I think that was how I started.
Edited on Sun Mar-23-08 02:45 AM by impeachdubya
Probably after that I would add that most of what the dude has done in the past couple decades has been exceedingly weak, and I would include something about how too many Disney tie-ins have stripped him of relevance, sort of like Aerosmith appearing in a few too many kids movies/visa commercials pretty much evaporated whatever cred Steven Tyler once had.

And yeah, that thing about recycling the Marilyn song for Princess Di. Sorry, one tune, one set of lyrics, that's kind of a rule with me. Can you imagine if Hunter had tried to stick a whole new batch of lyrics onto "Brokedown Palace"? It'd be fucking jarring, it would.

But you know what? If people are into him, and into Hillary, and they want to buy tickets, I hope they have a good show. I mean that sincerely.

70. Right. Far more sensible to nominate someone who bores the crap out of people
whose entire early campaign was based on spouting gibberish about inevitability, instead of actually doing the legwork required to WIN the thing.

Anyway, that "entertainer" is quite likely going to be the Democratic Nominee and the next President of the United States. Might as well try to wrap your mind around it and deal.

$1000 - $2300 just to see a dying breed, Elton John is still
60yrs old......:wow: since I was 24yrs Elton has been 60yrs and thats
what....some 10-15 years ago and he is still 60yrs.

The difference between Hillary and Obama is STARS come out to support him
because they love and believe in what he is saying, my point is, they would
have done this without asking for a dime and it would have been a free
concert for all.

$1000 - $2300 at this day and age with oil price sky rocketing....ha!

Thats the major difference between right on day one and wrong on day one
strategical thinking is gone amiss within the Clinton camp.....

I mean I think most of the people in NY who can afford a $1000 or $2300 ticket were tapped back in 2007 when she announced. I mean other than the low dollar tickets we have to realize that a vast majority of this money is GE fund money that she can't touch for the primaries.
