Wow. Kerry's doing GREAT!
Edited on Mon May-10-04 04:47 PM by robsul82
As many of you know, I backed Howard Dean during the primary. I feared that Kerry was Dukasis 2: Vietnam Boogaloo.

But he's not! He's doing GREAT! Bush is going down in flames!

- In June of 1992, Bill Clinton would've lost an election to H. ROSS PEROT! Remember? Pie graphs guy? Huge ears? TOTAL WACKO? We're EVEN right now! An incumbent president, even a FAKE one, should be kicking our ass right now! But he's not! We're even! And we've got SIX MONTHS to go!

- Recently in New Orleans, there was a news report about WWII veterans and their views of the torture scandal. ALL of them Bush voters, ALL of them WERE going to vote for Bush again until he "apologized," or whatever that was. Now? "The president goes on A-rab TV and grovels for them people that did the 9-1-1 on us? " Old people don't just SIT HOME when they're pissed about something - they DO SOMETHING about it. All of those people? They're only six - but they're ALL voting Kerry!

- When ALABAMA is in play, you know you've got something.

- Kerry's looking all statesmanlike and such now. He's feeling it. He's coming up.

- As my Republican dad says, "Bush is just gonna lose because people are tired of him. Tired of the bullshit, tired of the crap. Just like his dad. People saw a blathering old man with his dad, and then came this charismatic young Southerner. Now, we see a lying idiot, and then we have this tall oak, deep booming voice of AUTHORITY. People will respond to that."

Chin up! Cheer up! John Kerry's doing GREAT!

As Tom Hanks said in A League of Their Own, "We're gonna win...we're gonna WIN!" And to some annoying fat kid chanting "You're gonna lose," he nailed him in the face with a baseball glove.

All the way with JFK!

Later.

2. Heh, yeah, I love it when Republicans say, "people won't vote against
Bush unless they have something else to vote FOR."

Bullshit. Why did Ford lose his second term? Because people loved Carter? Oh please . . . they voted to send the Republicans (Nixon) and everything about them the hell out the door.

I also think that Senator Kerry has done a good job to date.

5. Indeed!
Bush's hi-water marks in popularity are a distant memory. A few here worry that Kerry isn't doing enough. He really doesn't have to because the majorit of Americans know just how evil and bad this administration is for this country. Kerry gives great speeches and it's obvious, to anyone that takes the time to listen, that he has the skills to be a truely great President.

But the real point is, more and more people are talking down Bush and talking up Kerry. As this accelerates over the next 6 months, I can see the Bush apologist-supporters becoming fewer and more depressed trying to convince people not to believe the truth.

I'm thinking it could be 65-35 if Bush continues his negative momentum.
