MI and FLA DUers only..... Do you feel cheated?
I voted in MI and most of the complains re: this issue are from people in other states. I have asked for complaints from these states, but still nothing. Anybody? Beuller?

2. I do
I voted for Dennis, but can't honestly say who would've gotten my vote had I thought it would count. That's why I wanted do-overs versus seating the delegates as is, because people were left to wander to the polls and act in a masquerade of a real vote.

As I've said before, the people's vote should never, ever be an acceptable sacrifice for something so relatively silly as a rule about dates. If Dean and co. wanted to punish someone, it should've been the leaders, not the people.

3. I would have preferred to have voted for my Candidate, but no. Not really..
I had never voted Uncommitted before, it was kinda fun for a change.

I can vote for Barack in the GE, that will just have to do.

Also this will be a huge headache for Grandholm, I am unhappy with her so I don't have a big problem with the primary situation (so long as it comes back to haunt her).

4. not yet....because
Edited on Sun Mar-23-08 11:11 PM by better tomorrow
as an Independent in a closed state, I couldn't vote for anyone or anything except the Homestead Exemption....But, when I heard they were doing a redo I thought about switching parties and registering Democrat so that I could help Obama. Then, they announced no redo so as of now I am still an Independent. But, if they decide to do it over somehow and don't give me enough time to switch parties so I CAN vote, I will be hopping mad and then I will feel "disenfranchised". Does that make sense?

Oh, but by the way, I "have" been gerrymandered this year, though. That will work to the Repugs advantage in the GE....unfortunately. But, I still believe my vote will count!

8. yeah, we (hubby and I ) really should...it is just that
I had my grandkids for Easter break and didn't want to drag them down but we really should do it just to be safe.....I am in the NE part and it is still pretty RED up here, though.

I just hate that we got gerrymandered. Didn't realize it until the primary and boy was I upset....I used to be in a predominantly black precinct and now I am with all the "retired little white old ladies" (BTW, I am one, too) or at least that is who was there voting that day. When I asked why were were changed, the little old white lady in charge just smiled and said, "You'll see."

I just wish Obama would come to Florida. I really feel cheated, though, when I look at all the pictures of the crowds and how many people have been able to see him. I remember when Kerry came here and I got up front for a photo and handshake, but hardly anyone came to see him that day and the Bushies were out in front of the arena picketing.

6. From Florida - and yes I do.... we've been screwed over too many times.
I've about had it with the Democratic Party.... They're always allowing us to have things stolen form us - and this time they're causing it by not having fixed the whole situation a long time ago. The Repubs had their problem in Florida fixed months ago and no-one's complaining about it now.

The Dem Party looks like a laughing-stock...

11. I only feel "cheated" by our Michigan state "leaders".
I voiced my opposition to this little game of
"chicken" at a meeting in our county, when we
could STILL have had a caucus within the party
rules. EVERYONE in that room was against the
early primary, but our "leaders" did it anyway.

NO WAY should they be rewarded for their arrogance.

And I TALK about it at party meetings, too!

17. I'm not registered here but Floridians definitely feel cheated
Don't allow anyone to spin otherwise. Due to a family medical concern I've been in Miami since December 13, long before the primary and long after. I always sample opinion when I'm on the golf course, or at sports bars, in waiting rooms, you name it. It's a natural spin off of hosting debate parties, sampling opinion so I don't have to rely on vague polls or message board rants or deflection.

This time I attended 3 Panthers hockey games and between periods I must have asked at least 3 dozen fans seated next to me. "Hell yes I feel cheated" was the standard reply, often someone turning around to express it, even if they weren't immediately in front of me but had heard the question.

Women, more than men, are bewildered, approaching outrage in many cases. My aunt asked, "Our votes aren't going to count? How can they do that?"

The local media festers the disgust via editorials, the approach of local TV news, and local radio talk shows. The relentless theme is, "Count our votes. Or else..." Many outlets have advised not donating to the party or person unless the votes are counted and delegates seated.

Anyone who doesn't live here, and tries to assert this as a non-issue, is wildly out of bounds, some form of political fantasy island.

24. i dont feel cheated
i feel informed
i didnt know how much infiltration by outside influences there was present in my state party
i didnt know it had been hijacked by the DLC
i didnt know which DLC scum i needed to work to unseat

but now i know all these things right down to the county officials in my home district
and i can use my energy in making sure these people are removed from any position of power

as to the vote in florida
all superdelegates from florida should lose their votes
because they are the party powermen and they went along with the changes when proposed
and because they are mostly DLC members
as to elected delegates the DNC originally had a punishment in the rules
it was loss of 1/2 of your elected delegates count
this is fair
so allow us in florida to seat our elected delegates
give each 1/2 a vote

27. No, not cheated
I voted "uncommitted" in MI.

Our leadership screwed up, so the delegates don't count. I hope they can figure out a way to move the date back to where it should be, before Jan 2012.

Meanwhile, our leadership (yes, same bunch) wants a re-do. Too much money, no way to agree on format or participation, so it won't happen.

Forget the MI primary, no big deal.

My next vote is for DEM in Nov.

I'll feel cheated if they get to re-vote. It was clear to them that their votes would not count.

Just curious if there is a divide between Clinton and Obama supporters here. My coworker from MI is for Obama but feels a little cheated. But he voted in the GOP primary because the Dem primary did not count, so he may not get to vote again anyway.

39. My only complaint is the miserable ballot we had
that did not list all of the candidates. I don't mind that MI's votes won't be counted because my candidates'(3 of them actually) were NOT on the ballot.

Instead of blaming New Hampshire, Howard Dean, global-warming, and whatever else they want to blame for the fiasco, I would be quite happy to receive a PUBLIC APOLOGY from Gov. Granholm and Sens. Levin and Stabinow and the other brainiacs who cared not for their constituents. They should have watched out for us, not their favorite candidate.

I am particularly sad about Sen. Levin's involvement. He voted against the war and for the Dem sponsored bills, and against many of the nominees for gov. positions who got in anyway. He always voted the way I wanted him to. Sen. Levin??? How could you involve yourself in this DLC scam?
