Did Hillary Really Attempt To Join The Marines in 1975?
http://hillaryspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YTBiNWNkMTg2MTZjMjNhZjM3YWNkNzc4YjQ4OGViZGM=

The New Republic's cover piece on Hillary Clinton's views on the use of military force repeats the old story of a 27-year-old Hillary Rodham attempting to join the Marines in 1975.

You'll have to pardon my skepticism, but after a bit of Googling and Nexis-ing, I have to ask... has anyone besides Hillary ever confirmed this story? (Because the recruiter was such a skeptic, according to her story, it is unlikely the Marine Corps ever took her name down on any records.)

Even the New York Times story from when the then-First Lady first mentioned it (1994) seemed to suggest something in the timeline seemed a bit odd:

She and Mr. Clinton married on Oct. 11, 1975 in Fayetteville.

So, if she was talking to a Marine recruiter in 1975 before the marriage, was she briefly considering joining the few, the proud and the brave of the corps as an alternative to life with Mr. Clinton, who was already being widely touted as a sure thing for Arkansas Attorney General?

2. She misspoke. It was actually the Little Rock Junior League
She thought about joining the Marines, but was turned away by sniper fire.

3. And why the Marines? Why not the Air Force, or the Navy, or the Army--
all of which are easier to get into? If you want to serve, there's usually a way, if you're normal and healthy.

5. It wasn't the Marines it was the Supremes
She misspoke. After Diana Ross left, the Supremes
(not the Marines) were looking for a soldier of one to lead their group.
Hillary, being from the South or was it the Midwest was near MoTown at that time.

Billy Ocean, not Bill Clinton, turned her down and the Supremes,
not the Marines broke up in 1977.

At least that is how I remember the story.

8. Then explain her using Barrack's Kindergarten essay against him please (Double Standard From Hell)
It is her endless lies and lack of credibility that is the issue here.

14. Of course Clinton uses every negative trick in the book...
including going back 40 years to examine his kindergarten record, but Obama is trying to run a different type of campaign and eschew the old type of gotcha politics that we are used to. So even though Clinton does it let's take the high road and follow Barack's example.

10. goes to credibility and a pattern of dishonesty. I think its very relevant
especially since she's sticking by her story.
