Tonight, I'm reminded of a poignant poem:
A lady who lives in Madras
Has a truly magnificent ass.
It is not round and pink,
As you probably think,
But is gray, has long ears, and eats grass.

33. Remember that limerick contest where the only rules were
--that it had to have the both the words "Kaczynski" and "Lewinsky" in it somewhere? Among the top finishers--

There was a young woman Lewinsky
Who played on the flute like Stravinsky
T'was "Hail to the Chief"
On that flute made of beef
That stole the front page from Kaczynski.

Lewinsky and Clinton have shown
What Kaczynski should surely have known
That an intern is better
Than a bomb in a letter
Given the choice of how to get blown.

I think the contest probably gave Clinton an extra popularity boost.

Posts shit so deep that it's ponding,
But since she'd rather masturbate than talk,
She can walk, she can walk, she can walk.

9. Nope. I've been here since 2003. I might be gone a day or two because I'm busy...
but I'll never boycott. If my Hillary supporter friends want to, that's fine with me. All the best to them.

But I'm not going to be shut up by people who may not want to hear what I have to say.

And I wouldn't expect you to be shut up. I don't see what that accomplishes.

I meant what I said earlier. You don't post flame bait, or other bullshit.

I don't always agree with you, but I at least know you aren't pulling stuff out of your you know what.

14. Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" was written about Obama....

even though it was published in 1915, I'm *SURE* it was about the 2008 Democratic Nominee - Barack Obama:

The Road Not Taken - by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

---

Even though he never met Obama, I'm sure this poem was written about him.

Just as Maya Angelou was writing a poem in 1978 about a woman she had not yet met... Hillary Clinton.

25. I absolutely love that poem,
Frost is my favorite no doubt.

Here's my favorite all time poem. Maybe it was written about John Edwards. LOL. ;-)

THE TYGER
by William Blake (1757-1827)

TYGER, tyger, burning bright

In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?

Tyger, tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

34. or maybe this, from Mending Wall:
Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That wants it down.

Her class lies late and snores,
while poor black cherubs rise at seven
to do celestial chores.

21. I'm reminded of a rather patriotic poem myself
Well, not really a poem. It's a song, and I'd like to share it all with you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woLQI8X2R6Y

"Let the eagle soar,
Like she’s never soared before.
From rocky coast to golden shore,
Let the mighty eagle soar.
Soar with healing in her wings,
As the land beneath her sings:
'Only god, no other kings.'
This country’s far too young to die.
We’ve still got a lot of climbing to do,
And we can make it if we try.
Built by toils and struggles
God has led us through."
