AP: Why Wasn't The Truth Good Enough For Hillary?
The journalist that wrote this piece was on the trip

But during a speech last week on Iraq, Clinton stretched the truth to the breaking point. "I certainly do remember that trip to Bosnia and ... there was a saying around the White House that if a place was too small, too poor, or too dangerous, the president couldn't go, so send the first lady. That's where we went. I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

Hogwash. The truth is:

 There was no sniper fire.

 Nobody ducked for cover.

Bad weather, not security concerns, kept her husband from making the same trip a few months earlier.

And so the best explanation for her Bosnia embellishment may be this simple, and this human: She's overcompensating.

That would explain why it wasn't good enough to say she visited Northern Ireland five times and urged the rivals to make peace. No, Clinton claims she "helped bring peace to Northern Ireland."

She didn't just urge the Macedonian government to open its borders to refugees. No, she "negotiated open borders to let fleeing refugees into safety from Kosovo."

1. The million dollar question.
Does she believe it? Does she think she won't get caught? Does she think we're stoopid? Is she so insecure that she feels she needs to puff-up?

It's sad.

6. It's a repetitive story with her
She has a serious problem with responding to dangerous situations.

"She had gone on what she thought would be a great jog," Hillary Clinton explained. "She was going down to Battery Park, she was going to go around the towers. She was going to get a cup of coffee and - that's when the plane hit!"

Chelsea was at a friend's apartment, watching television.

12. Wow. I wasn't aware of that.
She is definitely overcompensating. Sad, crazy candidate. At least she's less insane than McCain. As far as I know.

17. Not with Hillary's story
She wasn't jogging, she wasn't near the WTC when the planes hit. Pretty simple.

11. Errr, it's worse than what you're posting here.
She had ZERO participation in the peace negotiations in N. Ireland. How can she urge the rivals if she's not in the room?
The Macedonian borders had been opened the day before her visit. How could she even ask that they be opened let along "negotiate" anything?

How the F could she negotiate any frickin' thing? As First Lady she had no kind of legal standing, any authority, not even a security clearance.

I've seen plenty of padded resume's in the corporate world, but hers really takes the cake.

15. And that may be why she felt the need to lie; otherwise, her Bosnia trip ...
... would be viewed as the strictly ceremonial and morale booster that it was.

16. Of course Joe Biden visited Milosevic 1on1 at MILOSEVICS HOUSE while Mi was committing genocide and:
called him damned war criminal to his face and said he was going to make sure he was tried as one.

4 YEARS later after hammering Bill Clinton he finally managed to convince Bill Clinton to (finally) intervene and bring him to justice. Hillary was against Bosnian intervention until it turned out to be successful.

Sigh... If only people wisened up before Iowa ...
