I'm not proposing the only other bipartisan ticket that will be discussed on DU. What if Kerry pick Sen. Lincoln Chafee from RI as Veep? He voted against the IWR and all of the * tax cuts. His voting record might not be perfect, but he's still to the left of Kerry of certain issues (like IWR vote) and it would really piss off the Repugs, since Chafee would effectively be leading "republicans for Kerry".
If he's such a "moderate," then he should have left the party like Jeffords. He's had four years. While I definitely admire Republicans who can buck the radical trend, that just means I wish there were more Republicans like them NOT that I want them running on Democratic tickets. When they start disavowing the radicals or leaving the party then we can talk.
