Texas: Clinton Campaign Looks To Locals To Challenge Obama Delegates - AP
<snip>

AUSTIN (AP) -- Hillary Clinton's campaign is mobilizing caucus supporters and helping those who want to challenge the legitimacy of some Barack Obama delegates in Texas.

Clinton state chairman Garry Mauro said the campaign itself will not challenge Obama's delegates at the approximately 280 county and state Senate district conventions Saturday.

The Clinton campaign is giving legal advice to voters who are mounting challenges.

Obama spokesman Josh Earnest said his campaign also has people looking closely at delegate counts and individual counties.

Hundreds of thousands of people attended Texas Democratic precinct caucuses after the March 4 primary.

Those caucuses began the selection of 67 pledged delegates to the Democratic National Convention. The next step is county conventions, to pick delegates to the state convention in June.

4. Worse Than That...
by trying to cajole the Super-Delegates to come to her side, and by reminding the pledged delegates that they don't really have to honor their pledges...

she disenfranchising us all.

I won't elaborate beyond that since I'm not comfortable doing so until after tomorrow. However, in my experience this is true.

Big distinction there. :eyes:

8. Forgive me if this has been covered (I haven't read through the messages over the last few hours)
But there was a post about Bill C. being seen as "panicking" that Hillary might lose Texas, and I wondered if it finally occurred to them that will all their statements about the delegates not really being obliged to follow the will of the people, that it works in BOTH directions. Therefore, there could be a mass exodus of votes today (so now they will reverse their statements to oblige them to stay)...

Não há pachorra!! (any Portuguese speakers out there?)

9. Not a big surprise, but think Iowa presents a valuable lesson
After Obama picked up extra delegates in the 2nd round of the conventions, that obviously spooked the Clinton campaign.

Think Iowa was mostly folks leaving the also-rans, but with the kind of grassroots organization Obama built in TX, could see his totals going up there too.

10. After saying that they would not challenge the caucuses the Daily News reports

A volunteer walked the complaints from Mrs. Clinton's Dallas office and hand-delivered them to the district convention's temporary chairman.

18. You must be new to politics.
I consider Obama going after red state caucuses (states that the party pretty much ignores in the GE) a brilliant strategy that will confer him the nomination.

But if you read my sigline that doesn't mean I agree with this strategy of winning a nomination based on disproportionate delegate totals and mere perception.

But it's still fucking brilliant.

17. A feminist politician would fight within whatever *political* means they have.
I consider this act, the act of fighting within the political process, to be encouraging.

After all, if the caucuses didn't vote the same way as the primaries, I'd think I'd have a somewhat compelling argument to sway delegates my way. Particularly those who are caucus delegates and are voting soon.

14. I had a three hour Credentials committee last night
In the end there were very few changes other than an obvious math error by one precinct. I saw some systematic and silly challenges from on clinton supporter in dallas. These challenges were very very silly
