My respect for Howard Dean grows more every day.
Edited on Wed May-19-04 11:04 PM by rhino47
I was an Edwards supporter.I was and am however very greatful for the impact that Howard Dean on this election year.He added something that was needed.Passion.I am very glad to say that Howard now is
lending that passion to the senate race here in my home state of Pa.
He is working really hard for hoeffel.I truely think we have a chance of beating arlen specter in ge.A large part of that is all the college kids crawling out of the woodwork inspired by Howard Dean.

Look at this article.Says toomey supporters are going to vote for dem Hoeffel.

he is really getting out there to support other dems in their races - just like he said he'd do when he was a frontrunner.

2. Hoeffel just posted at the blog today. Good post.
I think they are appearing together on Tuesday? It says the 23rd.
It was such a nice post he made.

SNIP..."Hello to all of you on Blog for America. I have only blogged a couple times before on my own campaign site so I am still getting used to this form of communication. It is amazing as I am out on the road campaigning across Pennsylvania when someone approaches me and says "hey Joe...I loved your blog." The first time I heard that phrase I have to admit I was a little thrown off.

But here I am now, blogging on the site that moved so many people to share their thoughts and change the way we think about politics and government. Governor Dean is even coming to Pennsylvania to be the featured guest at a fundraiser for me on May 23. I cannot tell you how excited my staff and I are to have someone like Governor Dean, a person who had the courage to stand up to Bush and Cheney early on, come in to help our campaign against one of the White House's staunchest allies in Arlen Specter. To be the first challenger in a U.S. Senate race to receive this type of support from Governor Dean has really signaled to the grassroots as well as the politicos and pundits that this race is for real..."END SNIP

3. Kick it for Hoeffel!
thanks for the link.Kicking good.
(snip)

I want Washington to take action on the concerns most Americans feel right now: about finding affordable health care, cleaning up the environment, bringing fiscal sanity back to Washington and building an economic future that really works for our country.

whats not to love bout him?

6. If he had not been knocked out ...
I wish so much he had won in Iowa and gone on to win the nomination. I believe he'd be 10 to 15 points ahead of Bush right now.

I know a number of people -- mostly Republicans and Independents -- who can't stand Bush but just can't warm up to Kerry. One of my fears is that people just won't vote. I hope Kerry wins, but I get depressed sometimes.

I really like the Dean's Dozen idea, and there's more to come. It'll be interesting to see how the candidates Dean supports throughout the nation fare in the elections.

I admire Dean a lot. He has honesty, passion, and a sense of humor. I hope Kerry can find a position for him in his administration.

7. Howard Dean is A Good Man.
I admit, I was a hardcore Clark supporter. I had been before the draft Clark movement even. John Kerry now has my full support now that he will be our candidate. He too is a good man.

One thing about Howard Dean is that he is an honorable man and would have made a great president. He has been true to his word and is doing a great job advocating for the Democratic party at all levels.

Something that I have noticed though is the conspicuous absence of that repug... er democratic senator from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman.
Remember all of the democratic candidates all promised to support the eventual winner. Where are you Joe? You Liar! Oh never mind, he would only hurt our party anyway. Joe, you have my vote for A**hole of the year.

8. He got a bad rap
Every time I heard his speech during the primaries, I loved his cheer and enthusiasm. I too am very enthusiastic and cheer my kids during their games and my husband during his games. I'm very loud and everyone feels good about the enthusiasm. But these self righteous stiffs couldn't handle it and gave him one hell of a bad rap.

We love you, Howard Dean. You stand out in a sea of dirty politics.

11. Dean ain't going away anytime soon!
Edited on Thu May-20-04 03:35 AM by Andromeda
Thank God. We need him for his zeal and his intelligence. He's a human dynamo, a tornado that sweeps over the country and everything in his path is changed forever.

He is a shot in the arm that we all need. I saw him on Hannity & Colmes today and he really held his own against Hannity. Dean said he thought Colmes didn't defend Democrats strongly enough, which is so true. Colmes is too wishy-washy and that's why he's Hannity's co-host. They couldn't have somebody on that called Hannity on his lies like Dean would.

Maybe Dean will get his own show? Hope so, I know I'll watch.

Dean's just getting started so expect to hear a LOT about him.

12. Howard Dean was right.
and he continues to be.

The proof that Iraq is a completely "un-American" fiasco just piles up daily. None of our values have been advanced by this or were ever going to be.

He is an honest guy that follows through on his convictions. He will support and do his level best to get a large number of Democrats elected.

If Kerry ends up in the Whitehouse and has democratic leadership in either the House or the Senate, he will owe Howard a thankyou note. It will not be the only thankyou note he needs to write, but Howard's should be near the top of the list.

What a great thread. I feel like some who didn't really *understand* Dean and his patriotism are getting to know him for the first time.

I feel that Dean has a calling and he is (like it or not) changing this country for the better damnit - there is no stopping him folks. I predict an amazing ride and a better country before he's finished.

17. I think you are right about some just getting to know what he is about.
There was so much biting and fighting during the primary season that no one really listened. His goal is changing things from the bottom up, and he means it. He will swallow pride, hurt, and do what has to be done.

19. With Dean it was always about the Democratic Party
Dean has been doing a lot more to help get Democrats elected to Congress than anyone. His contribution to this election cycle is more than just his "spine". I just hope that the DLC will acknowledge this and give him a key speech time slot during the convention.

22. There's really not too many people that should be able to say
that they don't respect Dean for what he is trying to do for the party, now and when he was running for prez. I can see how some can say they don't like him. Some may still feel this way now.

Dean at times ran a bit of a dirty campaign and sometimes he comes across as arrogant. So don't like him but respect all that he tried to do to get shrub out of office.
