2. I think he could get support from many police officers on that one too. I've heard too many of them
...saying they can concentrate their resources on far more dangerous LEGAL drugs like alcohol.

3. Why don't you ask him directly
His web site is a place to go, for starters.

Don't ask Hillary supporters, they are apt to tell you more lies.

4. As this is a discussion board, I was hoping to develop a discussion
about something that is not spoken of.. So many supporters already know so much about Obama, I figured there would be plenty of discussion... Thanks for the suggestion :hi:

5. I would say that like many Dem politicians, he is sympathetic to legalization
Or decriminalization at the very least. I believe he did indicate support for it on a survey back when he was in the IL Lege, but backpedaled on it somewhat after taking some heat for it. Legalizing pot is such a third rail issue in our country. It has little to do with the actual issue IMO and a lot to do with attitudes about crime, race, and generational stuff. Support for legalization among people under 50 is very high and I predict we will see it within the next decade.

6. my understanding about his position
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 11:38 AM by mkultra
Is that he does not support complete legalization but does support decriminalization. This essentially means that the first step is to eliminate federal interference.
