Question: How much has John Kerry raised so far?
I remember reading Kerry has raised $120 million and Bush has raised $202 million. Are those the right figures?

1. Sounds about right. But Bush has spent something like $70 million
on attack ads, while Kerry hasn't spent quite that much.

WASHINGTON — President Bush has raised more than $200 million for the election, but has spent more than $126 million of it, according to finance reports and statistics released Thursday.

The campaign of Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts said Thursday that it had raised more than $30 million in that time, bringing its total receipts to more than $115 million.

4. If the trend for Kerry continues...
I'm not sure about my numbers (and am drugged up, since i just had a hernia operation and am living on Percocete) but it seems to me that Kerry raised 15 million in March, and 30 million in April.

I know they were shooting for 10 million in ten days in May. Imagine if Kerry could pull in 40 million in May, and fifty million in June.

This puts a whole new spin on not accepting the nomination until September, since it gives him all of July and August to raise another 100 million. Which would be so sweet.
