Their official position is like Switzerland's, and they're sticking to it.

2. I think they're waiting until after NC |
Their endorsement won't make much difference now and might actually do more harm than good.

6. I have a feeling that if they endorse it will be for Hillary. |
Elizabeth made it clear that she preferred Hillary's health care plan. She said Obama and Hillary's plans were MUCH better than McCain's because they cover pre-existing conditions and Mccain's does not. She also said she did not think Obama's plan went far enough. She wants a mandate for everyone. That should not be surprising because that was John's position when he was running for president. She did say that either Obama or Hillary would be a good choice for president.
One thing that concerned me was that she was stammering a lot when she was answering questions today. She did not used to do that in the past(whereas Obama does that quite often when trying to find the right word or the right way to express his thoughts). This was different. I hope her treatment is going okay. I don't know. I just started to worry about her a bit after seeing her today. She mentioned that she had to go to a dr appt after the interview. My prayers are still with her family as they fight that awful disease.

11. NO...she DID say it covered pre-existing conditions. She said |
McCain's did not. I don't know if I had a typo in the other post or not. If I did I DID NOT mean that. She said McCain's did not cover pre-existing whereas the Dems covered it.

13. I saw her on Morning Joe this morning. I could've sworn she said Obama's plan cost less than |
Hillary's because it didn't include people with pre-existing conditions among some other things (she says only Hillary's is "universal.")

14. Well, I must have been half asleep because I distinctly remember |
her saying that Hillary and Barack's plans cover pre-existing. She said that a person with pre-existing conditions (like her and McCain) would not have coverage under McCain's plan. She did say that Hillary's plan was the only true "universal" plan because it mandated that everyone have insurance.

12. Would his health plan cover the extremely wealthy? |
I found it a little strange that she used herself as an example of someone who might have to go without healthcare under Obama's plan. Most of us will never see the kind of money she has.

19. The wealthy never have, and never will go without healthcare. |
I can see that there might be an income based cutoff for the government plan, to keep people who have the resources from draining the government system, but that won't leave them without healthcare.

5. Yep - said Obama was charming - and so was HRC |
Also, made the point that both Democratic health plans cover existing conditions, unlike McCain's. (her attack was directed on McCain and only McCain.)

7. I agree that she did try to pivot the conversation to |
highlight the differences between John McCain vs the Dems plan. However, she did say that she preferred the mandate for everyone. She said either one would make a good president.

Any health plan that has to make its way through Congress is going to be heavily modified before the President gets to decide whether to sign it or not. The decision on mandates vs. non-mandates will not be made on the Presidential level because the President does not have a line item veto.

21. You are, of course, right. |
No one should base their vote entirely on either candidate's health care plan. It is not a done deal until a "heavily modified" plan actually passes through Congress. We'll be lucky to get HALF of whichever plan is actually the weaker. Just sayin'.
