This campaign won't be over until it's over.

Remember when we all KNEW it would be Clinton vs Giuliani? And McCain was THIS CLOSE to being DOA?

I don't think it'll happen, but I won't rest until it's over.

31. Actually, with a candidate who won all the major Democratic states in the primary
Something Barry H.O. can't claim to have come even close to doing. I don't care much for Barry or for his Republican base, and they might like him in the primaries, but I have no confidence that these Republicans will vote for him in the general election. I'm sorry to see you appear to have such confidence, because my long experience says the result will be otherwise. For all of our sakes, I hope you're right if he does win the nomination.

isn't going to win the 'major Democratic states' in November, whether the nominee is Clinton or Obama. Only a brain-damaged jackass could think that's a serious argument. Please explain to me, if you can, why California, New York, and Massachusetts are going to vote Republican if Obama is nominated. (And explain to me also when Illinois stopped being a major Democratic state, because I think I missed that.)

82. Because as an Edwardian, I lean towards Hillary only by default.
Beyond that, it's just a matter of looking back at a year's worth of impressions (none are very favorable) of both candidates, neither of which I voted for or would vote for in the primary in my State (even though my candidate had dropped out by then) and seeing two very imperfect candidates and wondering WTF???? Is THIS the best this party's capable of after over 7 years of this neocon nightmare????

Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 06:17 PM by Spider Jerusalem
Superdelegate deus ex machina, because...? Hillary is not more electable, so that can't be it; she has run a far less effective campaign, so that can't be it; she is a far less effective fundraiser, so that can't be it; she has won far fewer votes, far fewer contests, and far fewer delegates, so that can't be it; she's less likely to help the critical down-ticket races that are necessary wind for a solid Democratic Congress, so that can't be it; she puts fewer states into play in the GE, and the 'big (blue) states' will vote Democratic anyway, so that can't be it either. So, just out of curiosity, what exactly leads you to form this opinion?

This thought is totally consistent with historical reality.

The Democratic base as well as others have wanted to diminish the influence of transnational corporations, cartels and war profiteers on our representatives in DC for decades.

The internet has given us a window of opportunity to conduct an end run around these influences.

We usually lose...

maybe, "not this time."

58. Imagine a baseball team losing by 12 runs and it's top of the 8th
If you think that team that's losing by 12 runs can win the game, then that's certainly possible. But not likely. Hillary Clinton has about a 4% chance of being the nominee at this point based on delegates and the popular vote.

Obama will be our next President. Then we all have a lot of work to do.

65. It feels like the movie "Duel," where Dennis Weaver's character is being relentlessly pursued by an
insane truck drive who got pissed off when Weaver's character passed him on a stretch of highway.

So, yeah, I kinda feel that "vibe" every once in a while. Still think Obama is going to be the nominee, despite it, though.

72. Look this might help.....
I am the most pessimistic person alive... every step of the primary season... I have fretted over every single thing... I have been "sure" many many times that Obama was about to lose this thing... But ever since Wisconsin... I have realized... He can't lose... there is NO way Hillary will win this thing... the math just doesn't put it in the realm of possibility. The SDs are NOT crazy... they will NEVER overturn the results of the primaries....

TRUST me... She is toast. I promise. Take a shot of Tequila(or a glass of wine) and go to bed... you will feel better in the morning.

77. Extremely doubtful
The math doesn't work for her. If he's ahead in pledged delegates in early June, the bulk of the Supers will break to him. It'll be over then. Hillary's ship is sinking in PA. If she actually loses there, that pledged delegate break may come sooner.

I really think that they've pulled as many as they can. This is really a situation where I don't see a win for them no matter what they do.

But, I can understand where your feeling comes from...we've seen them "on the ropes" about 5 times so far, and she's still running around the ring. Seriously hurt, yes. But still somewhat standing.

So, let's just say that I HOPE your feeling is wrong. ;)
