About Olbermann
http://allyourtv.com/0708season/theproblemwithcountdown.html

From the link:

"Keith Olbermann has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Barack Obama's campaign.
His objectivity has gone out the door along with any show of critical judgement or journalistic
credibility. He's become another media whore, and a pompous one at that. I've turned the dial.
He should be punished for his pomposity and pandering."

1. Unfortunately, tis true. I grieve.
It literally breaks my heart that I can't get my daily fix of Keith. I would never have believe he could be so biased. I think Keith will realize, just like Obama, that they need Hillary supporters also.

Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 10:58 PM by The Wielding Truth
After all the cooing she is doing with them she should get her the coverage that you want.

I got pulled in, because you jumped all over Oberman for speaking with intelligence. Keith is all we have to speak out against *. I wonder where your priorities are. Don't your remember what has happened here? 4000+ of us dead in a war to get money and power for who? Not anyone's freedom! Not for anyone's safety! Keith doesn't forget.

Did Hillary so anything to stop it?Has she done anything to unite us? Can you think maybe he's got it right again? We may have more say in what happens here, because of Keith. Have some perspective.

You forget he has stood up for you. Think if he doesn't agree with you. Maybe you are wrong this time?

They don't care about the fact that KO actually says good things about Hillary every now and then. The mere fact that he says anything negative about her is enough for them to trash him.

I mean, other than that spiffy speech he gave in 2002. Once in the senate he voted 85 times right along with Hillary to finance the war, so please spare us your self righteous outrage.

87. Yep, mock the courage it took him to give that speech at at time when war support was at a high.
Because your candidate did SO much herself to oppose it and to do the right thing.

Obama may have "only" given a "spiffy speech," but back then, that was a lot. Certainly a lot more than certain other candidates have done.

Even if all Obama really had was that speech (as Hillary claims), it'd STILL be a better claim to the White House than Hillary's "35 years" of enabling Wal-Mart and the GOP.

100. Yet I'm sure you think Hillary is a beacon of courage and integrity, always doing the right thing.
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 02:39 AM by Eric Condon
Please.

Any lawmaker who stood up in 2002-2003 and opposed the illegal bloodbath DID show courage, because they were risking their political hides at that time. People forget just how rabidly hawkish and conservative this country was at that time, and ANY lawmakers who opposed the war then, from Kucinich to Feingold to Obama to Chafee, deserve nothing but high praise. These people are true Democrats (I consider Chafee one of ours as well), but more importantly, they know what it means to do the right thing, regardless of what triangulating political advisors might have been telling them about how this war vote will make them look "tough on defense" when they run in 2008.

115. I wrote a letter to the editor against the war
& got death threats (one actually made it into the paper), had my house & car vandalized, & had people come up to me & say all kinds of horrible things to my face. And I live in a heavily Democratic area.

So yeah, giving that speech at that time was an act of courage. Cowtowing to the Bush Admin without even reading the intelligence reports was the coward's way out.

should try to maintain a little bit of integrity and remain unbiased? Keithy boy is not a journalist, news anchor or even a very good sports anchor. He is an entertainer that pretends to be a real source of news. there is a fat guy who takes oxycodone and viagra that is pretty much the right wing equivalent of keithy boy. Just a hack entertainer.

89. Compared to others in his time slot, his ratings are good.
Check it out for yourself. He beats both CNN and CNN Headline News in his time period. He is in second place out of four programs that air in that time slot. He only loses to Bill O'Reilly, and BO has the highest rated show on all of cable news. Everybody loses to him, not just KO.

96. Olbermann is a windbag obsessed with BO.
I'm no fan of BO, but KO's daily rants against him are a bore. I used to like his show when he talked in a positive way about all Democrats, since he chose sides (along with the rest of MSNBC) I stopped watching that network altogether.

When ABC reported that Gov. Rendell said that FOX was giving a more balanced treatment of the primary, there were dozens of posts from Democrats on their site who said that they were now watching FOX and how sad it was that they had to go there to get a fairer assessment of OUR primary.

99. He is under no obligation to talk in a positive way about all Dems.
He doesn't work for the DNC. He is doing a news commentary show and he is free to tell it like he sees it. Of course, you are also free to disagree with him, but why don't you want to watch him just because you don't agree with everything he says? If the strength of your convictions is strong enough, it would seem to me that you should be able to listen to opposing points of view.

94. Actually its a very popular show.
Despite the petulance of Clinton supporters. And were these whining Clintonites paying attention to the Wal-Mart story last week? It seems that he is the main reason that Wal-Mart pulled back from their completely ridiculous lawsuit.

This whining about Olbermann is just beyond pathetic, it's too bad Clintonites just don't get that he doesn't like the politics of fear, whether it is a Republican or Democrat who is using it.

There are a lot of very good people who have been held in high esteem here on DU over the past few years, and now we're watching you anti-Obama folks collectively throwing them under the bus. The very instance some Democrat or progressive endorses Obama, or says anything remotely negative about Hillary, you all group together and start trashing that person.

If John Edwards were to endorse Obama, I'm sure that within minutes his name would be anathema to you.

What a boring world it would be if everybody agreed with everyone about everything. Sure, I don't agree with KO on everything. 118. AX10 I quit watching his show when he became a Left Wing Democan
I understand reporting on candidates for untruths or misleading statements or polls etc. but he has become the left wing Democan and is O'Reilly's counterpart. He is down right nasty and it is all about Hillary. People wonder why he can't get the top ratings in that time slot but O'Reliiy keeps the top ratings, well, KO has gone to the dark side. I quit watching him months ago.

He's beaten O'Reilly more than once.

Anyway, how's switching to Fox working out?

Actually anything is better than Olbermann in that time slot.

Oh that's right, you don't watch so you wouldn't know.. Try yesterdays worst persons.

Crucify the guy because you don't like his candidate choice. Nice. I'm sure if you subbed the name Obama for Hillary on his show you'd be singing his praises.

For me? The Wal-Mart deal showed me I was right about Keith. He actually gives a shit.

He should be punished? For his opinion? Or should he be punished for saving that family from the Wal-Mart machine?

On edit: I apologize, I shouldn't be besmirching the good name of Wal-Mart like that, since you Hillary supporters can't find any lefties on your side I guess you'll need them too...

151.  Is KO the saviour of that poor woman? CNN was running that story
bigtime and so were several other shows. Anderson Cooper probably spent more time on that Wal-Mart story than KO as KO spends most of his time kissing Obama's rear.

154. Part of it yeah...
Olbermann had it on every night. Till WM caved. Sorry if that bursts your little I hate Keith bubble, but the truth is he's been sticking up for us for years and now when he choses the candidate you don't like, well then he's an asshole. Sorry if the whole world isn't following in your footsteps. Must be tough... :eyes:

This faux hate on the left wing media is hurting your candidate more than helping.

Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 09:27 PM by barb162
CNN's site got about two million hits on their web site for that story. Please stop making that Obama ass-kisser your hero and crediting him for things for which he's hardly responsible. It's very much like Obama taking credit for things he never worked on. How much do you think Obama's camp slips under the table for KO?

PROVE IT! The truth is if Olbermann was supporting Hillary you'd be kissing his ass. And he's not my "hero" but after all he's done he deserves more than your scorn because you don't like his candidate choice. I seem to remember a time when he was the only one on TV who had the balls to support the liberals. Now you hate him. Good luck to you.

KO's disgusting partisanship is sinking him in the ratings. A lot of people have stopped watching that biased show.
And, I hate to disappoint you, but I wouldn't waste any emotional energy hating him. But I must admit I feel sorry for what he's turned into...a clueless biased man.

here's the ratings for the first quarter 08'. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/q1_2008_ratings_msnbc_7_8_9_81324.asp?c=rss

And I don't need to be an Oracle to understand how you feel. Using words like "disgusting" to describe a guy who has been behind the progressive movement from the start gets your point across just fine.

Keith for pulling the same shit...different party.
You know...I can handle the bad truths about Hillary or obama...but make it fair and make it above board.
Keith lost the one thing he had going for him when he became an obama shill--his objectivity, but when you come down to it,
THAT is the one thing that MADE his show.

163. Yesterday the SFRC held a hearing on Iraq - there was this guy there
that was brought into testify. He had lived in Iraq, in Baghdad. He told the truth about Iraq - in plain and simple terms about how f*cked up things really are. How the downturn in violence was between Iraqis and Americans - not between the different religious factions in Iraq.

While I was listening to his amazing, straightforward, honest testimony, I couldn't help but wonder --- WHY DOESN'T OLBERMANN HAVE THIS GUY ON?

I just found out from one of my fellow Bidenites, that Amy Goodman had.

Olbermann has become tabloid tv. He lost the edge he once had - the groundbreaking reporting.
Too bad... I used to look forward to his show.

(The guy's name is Nir Rosen, if anyone is interested)

...when he was holding the rethug's feet to the fire he was brilliant, now that he holds their Queen accountable for her numerous lies and "mis-statements" he's a partisan asshole...

The irony is obviously wasted on the three or four braincells the Hilltards have to rub collectively together...

168. Wayne Barrett on Olbermann
Wayne Barret, the legendary Village Voice investigative reporter, criticized MSNBC, specially Joe Scarborough, for its anti-Hillary rhetoric. While he was at it, he had this to say about Olbermann?

Meanwhile, Keith Olbermann (who, it must be pointed out, occasionally invites this writer on his show) tried for months to stay above the scrum, but lately has been taking on Hillary night after night—never trash-talking like his teammates, but eventually deriding Hillary in one of the "Special Comment" editorials he'd previously saved for acts of war and official treachery.
