Partners for Victory Matching Fund--What's that?
I just got an email from Terry McAuliffe saying that everything I donate in response to that email will be matched dollar for dollar, and that I should forward it.

I'm assuming its all up and up, but I'm curious. How does that work? Where does the money come from?

1. From wealthy Democrats.
They know Kerry will be less well-financed than will Bush, so they will match your donations to the DNC dollar-for-dollar. The DNC is NOT limited in what it can spend between Kerry's nomination and Bush's, and can buy ads, etc, in the intervening time period.

:)

2. It's a win win
Even the rich donors have their limits. Many times they will specify that their donations are for "matching funds". This gives the organization asking for funds a way to let donors know that there will be more bang for their buck. It's a common way to raise funds for many non-profit organizations, not just political.

In other words - GO FOR IT and SPREAD THE WORD. Now is a great time to give to the DNC.

4. The great thing is that they do not have spending limits imposed between
Dem convention and Repub convention. They can help cover the gaps as long as they are not coordinated with the campaign.
