Ferraro Calls For Randi's Head! (Updated With Video)
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 02:17 AM by 2rth2pwr
Ferraro has wasted no time calling for Rhodes to be fired.

*NEW* Video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6nGyanlQiM

"What did they do with Don Imus when he went after the young black team who was playing basketball with kind of the same language? Treat them both the same...She's coming at me and Hillary in a ... sexist way... To incite people with language like this young woman just did on radio is very, very dangerous because ... some people take this stuff so seriously that it can affect your security."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeff-norman/rhodes-says-air-america-b_b_94981.html

The man behind the suspension, Charlie Kireker is an Obama supporter!

54. They keep complaining about FEMALE unity...
but what most people are paying attention to is the fact that Ferraro goes to Fox to talk against Dems,Hillary and her husband say MCCain will be better as president, and more patrotic,Hillary hangs with mellonscaife and Rupert Murdock and other neocons so what are we suppose to think. I think they are showing who they really are...

15. That's an outright lie, there are whole sites *dedicated* to call out those people.
The fact remains that because liberals are not their target audience they have no interest to get rid of those people.

*In fact* because we're liberals and we watch their show they probably consider it *good* that those shows get called out on their shit.

It means they're doing their job.

57. I call nonsense. Nonsense, I say!
Ferraro was NOT taken out of context. She attributed Obama's success in the campaign to being a black man, and that America was just thrilled to be able to support the token candidate.Or am I somehow missing Geraldine's subliminal references to Obama's presidency of the Harvard Law Review, his years as a community organizer, years in the Illinois Senate, his prominence as one of the few Democratic voices who spoke-out loudly and presciently against the Iraq war, his US Senate experience, and his inspirational speeches and presence?

I don't give a crap what Geraldine Ferraro is or was. Her comments were clear. And absent an admission of some sort there's no way to attribute her comments to anyone or anything more than a moronic, out-of-touch US citizen, who's shown that her opinion isn't worth a plug nickel.

Imus' comments were vile and targeted at a women's basketball team, who had done nothing more than to excel in a basketball tournament. RandiR was criticizing, however indelicately, public political figures. There is a vast difference, obvious to those free of bias.

17. As an Obama supporter, I agree with ferraro, but ferraro should also be fired by Clinton
for her racist remarks

What Randi said was uncalled, and as host on a progressive radio that trys to get progressive listeners, you don't alienate half your audience by insulting their candidate with such vile remarks

I also believe that ferraro's comments that Obama wouldn't be where he is if he wasn't black, is racist code for "he didn't do it on his own", it was just the color of his skin was why "THEY" are giving him a break

Hillary should fire ferraro for those outrageous comments

If for nothing else Rhodes should be let go for business reasons

If for nothing else ferraro should be let go from the Clinton campaign for her racist comments which reflect on Hillary, no matter whether justified or not, she should kick her off her campaign

Obama apparently expressed similar sentiments himself, in a newspaper interview a couple of years ago. That if he wasn't black, he'd be just one of many juniour senators.
And why isn't anyone screaming when Kerry said to the effect that Obama would make a better president because he is a black man?
But when Ferraro said something it's racist?

64. Taking only your statements, paraphrased...
Kerry: "Obama would make a better president because he is a black man."

Ferraro: "Obama is only where he is because he's a black man. ... America is caught-up in the concept."

Kerry's statement is in-line with Hillary's statements that a female in the White House would bring a new perspective. Kerry's and Hillary's statements communicate supplemental benefits that the more diverse background of either candidate might bring to the Presidency.

Ferraro's statement communicates that Obama's skin color is the *main* reason for his success, not that it's a contributing factor, and that he's only doing well because America is just so thrilled to be able to vote for a token black candidate.

It's a pretty obvious difference, really. So I suspect my spelling it out hasn't aided you a bit.

63. Yes, Hillary *should* have quickly rejected and denounced Ferraro's comments ...
... but her not doing so supports the implication that Ferraro wasn't the free agent she appeared to be. Ferraro's comments fit within the broad pattern of the Clinton campaign's attempt to recast Obama as "the black candidate", in an effort to scare superdelegates into overriding Obama's elected delegate majority. (psst! Hey, you know a black guy can't win in November, right?)

Seems that Obama agreed with Ferraro in an interview with the Chicago Sun Times in 05 obama said if he were not black he would not be getting all this attention as 1 of the 11 new senators sworn in. That's 3 years ago and Ferraro literally said that Obama would NOT be where he is if he were a white man. And that his success is only because "America is caught-up in the concept."

Saying Obama's race is a contributing factor is decidedly different from saying it's the MAIN factor, and that he's merely the token black -- Affirmative Action -- candidate, as Ferraro indicated.

48. Geraldine Ferraro, in all honesty, has to be one of the most bitter and pathetic political pesonas
on the face of this planet.

Geraldine Ferraro, by her very nature, is *A POLITICO* and not an "innocent victim."

Shame on her and the creeps (Hannity, Coulter, etc.) at FOX piling-on Randi Rhodes to be fired.

And yes, shame on "those of us" who support such KNEE-JERK sentiments.

Take a step back and consider that there are NO VICTIMS here, merely *feigned outrage* by contributing Journalist Geraldine Ferraro with a little help from Fox and Friends.

Yes, as blunt as I can be at times, I'll admit that Randi goes "one step beyond" -- BUT -- that in NO WAY gives me (or you) permission to abandon her right to free speech.

REINSTATE RANDI RHODES because it's "The AMERICAN Way!" :patriot:
