I noticed a nice shift tonight
Watching some talking heads who were giving their analysis of the campaigns so far I noticed a new shift in the conventional wisdom. It seems to be going from, "Kerry's short on specifics" or "Kerry needs to clearly differentiate himself" or...you fill in the blank to "Kerry's doing a smart thing", etc., etc. Of course, it's still a little disheartening to realize that this is because of the CBS poll and the pundits don't actually know anything, but rather just think up reasons to fit in with what's already happening. I'd like to get a job as a pundit. Looks like very easy work. But still, if the meme is moving to "Kerry - smart" along with the very accurate "Bush - dumb as a post" meme, that's very good for us.

1. Bush Dumb as a Post
I don't think I'd wait for shifting memes before declaring Bush dumb as a post. That's how I thought of him when he was governor of Texas even before he ran for president. That's how I still think of him. Nasty, arrogant and stupid.

2. Major media just following trends
I have a feeling that the major media are finally getting the memo that it may be a Kerry landslide this fall with recent electoral predictions.

The Hannitys of this World have become tiresome. Even the Repugs are yawning.

3. That's a good one. Is it short for Repugnants?

4. It pretty much completely destroys faith in media.
They really suck. I especially noticed in on Hardball last night when Matthews was asking "who would you rather spend a 13 hour plane ride with...Bush or Kerry"...it sounded really dated...like an old meme.

That stuff is OLD. People are SICK to DEATH of Bush, and sick of hearing people carrying on like he is infallible.

I credit the Daily Show, personally. :)
