Gen. Wesley Clark speaks to Mississippi Democratic Party
This just in from the Sun Herald. Pulled up this story through a news search. Seems Wes was stumping for Kerry on Friday:

"JACKSON, Miss. - Gen. Wesley Clark, who competed as an underdog candidate in the race for a Democratic presidential nomination, rallied with energetic Mississippi Democrats Friday in support of Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign..."

"Clark the retired four-star general, received five standing ovations at the party's 23rd annual Jefferson-Jackson-Hamer Dinner at the Clarion Hotel.

"It says in the good book know the truth and the truth will set you free. Well, let me tell you what the truth is. The truth is George W. Bush is going to lose in November," he forcefully said..."

"Clark said the President of the United States is the most powerful man on the planet.

"We need to talk about who that person is. What's his character - his experience? Is he somebody we can trust and believe in? I think John Kerry is that person. He's a superb leader. He's a true statesman. He's a patriot. He's got the right experience to beat George W. Bush and he has the right ideas to bring jobs and prosperity and affordable health care to America and make our country safer and stronger. That's who John Kerry is," he said."

Clark was quoted as saying he's been stumping for Kerry at least once or twice a week, but sometimes he campaigns ten days or more, and he's done three or four TV shows so far this week for Kerry.

3. If Wesley has anything to say about it
Kerry can't lose :)

I just wonder when the man is sleeping.

Dem keynote speaker in Nebraska, Kansas, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi. Launched his national security PAC. Hosting a $1000 a person fundraiser for Kerry in DC. On television every other day and radio. He's published two major articles in the past two weeks and he's got a new book coming out in September. And that's not the half of it.

Made of steel, I tell you.

4. By the way, check out Yahoo
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=index&cid=703

All the Kerry stories have a picture of Kerry, and a separate picture of Clark. It's not a great picture, but it's a picture, even when he isn't mentioned in the article. I just found that interesting :)

5. But, but, but ...
I thought only EDWARDS was permitted to campaign for Kerry in front of "real people," or in the South!

The Sun-Herald is obviously LYING!

</sarcasm>

6. He's saying his TV appearance are "for the campaign."...
Edited on Sat May-29-04 12:44 PM by Kahuna
I wonder if the TV stations know that when they book him? I can just hear the repukes crying foul and trying to start trouble over this admission.

16. They know Clark's representing Kerry
They usually make a point of it. In the case of Fox news, they even mentioned that Kerry's campaign was paying for the satellite feed. And the last time I saw Clark on Blitzer's show, the title that ran under his name was "Advisor to Senator John Kerry" (or maybe it was "presidential nominee...").

I suppose it could be that the Repubs would complain more if Clark were criticizing Bush (as he inevitably does) and it wasn't clear that he's on Kerry's team.

the "good book" and slaps the repugs in the face with it! He has taken the religious issue away from those assholes.

"It says in the good book know the truth and the truth will set you free. Well, let me tell you what the truth is. The truth is George W. Bush is going to lose in November," he forcefully said..."

He has stumped for Kerry 10 days or MORE..... in a row? Now, is that dedication or is it not? Wes Clark is the best!

Go Wes!

8. Excellent...
The man has been working his tail off for Kerry. Note how it is ALWAYS Clark on television when the "war on terra" is the top story?

You kick butt, General!

17. A friend in Texas told me
Edited on Sun May-30-04 09:02 AM by hf_jai
That Edwards was invited to speak in TX, because the new head of the state party is also a leader of the Trial Lawyers association there. Not putting that down--the first priority of EVERY state party right now is raising money, and she says the trial lawyers have raised more money in TX than any other single democratic constiuency--apparently TX recently passed some major tort reform legislation and they are much concerned.

But being invited by the state party leadership is not the same as being sent by the Kerry campaign as a surrogate.

15. It's really moving
When you can use powerful campaign rhetoric and it is still absolutely true. Makes shivers run down the spine.

So that we know the spine is there.

Bushco? The truth shall lock them up.
