Clinton thrills Eugene audience
Like many at Saturday’s rally for presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, Lisa Kinser-Wehr’s mind was already made up.

“This is an amazing moment for me — I’ve been a Hillary supporter for a long time,” the 38-year-old Eugene resident, who arrived at South Eugene High School at 5:30 a.m. to wait patiently with her husband and daughters, 4 and 6.

“Someday,” she said, gesturing to her girls, “They’ll be able to say they saw her.”

The speech packed the school’s gymnasium to the rafters, and though the crowd’s energy waned a bit as Clinton arrived more than an hour later than her slated 1:30 p.m. appearance, she was greeted by enthusastic roars.

1. school gymnasium?
That's not something to brag about when your opponent can fill 20,000 seat arenas.

4. The video at that link asks people why they are voting for Hillary.
All but one basically say they are doing so because she is a woman. I wonder if they'd be voting for Condi or Laura Bush?

17. It was cold and rainy
And there was a large crowd in a very long line. I was there, at least to see the crowd, too sick to stand in the rain, just over a cold. Flu? Creeping crud I call it.

The room holds 3500-4000 depending on the configuration.

Next weeked I will hear Chelsea on behalf of her mother and a yet to be named Obama surrogate in Eugene and hopefully in better health.
Obama was here a couple of weeks ago and had the U of O basketball arena, around 9 thousand or so I think. Big crowd. I did not get close to getting in. I think that is where I got the cold however. His speech was very sucessful here.
But there were lots of enthuiastic people today, in rotten weather we are all sick of. And from. And it feels like Primary season now I tell you. My friends who heard the speech today really liked it. A good time was had by all.

18. “Someday,” she said, gesturing to her girls, “They’ll be able to say they saw her.”
OK, ignoring the fact that a 4 and 6 year old will not be likely to remember anything about seeing HRC in about 3 years, ... is he saying that this is their last chance in their lifetimes because she's clearly headed for the dustbin of political history?

:dem:

20. I love it when parents bring their kids up to appreciate politics.
It can really have an impact years later. We need more young dems to follow in their parents footsteps.
Never too late... or too early...to get it.
