There seems to be quite a difference on how the two candidates handle pressure. Obama seems to take it in stride and has not really let on that it affects his judgement or how he has decided to stay on message. The biggest hit he has taken so far is the Wright story - there certainly was an amount of pressure on him during that assault, but instead of losing his balance and lashing out he took time to consider before kneejerking out thoughtless words. How he dealt with this pressure was his speech on race - he faced it head on and took the challenge to speak honestly to an audience that WAS willing to listen - we always have been. and it scored him points.
Perhaps another reason he does well, is that he is not as entrenched and beholding to the political and corporate structure. Maybe his 'inexperience' is really a blessing in disguise for him on this count. His closets are in better order than one who has been shuffling around those rooms with so many doors of either opportunity or doors slammed in your face for 35 years.
The Clintons have been described as powerhouses - the unstoppable machine. I don't think this machine was built by Clinton™. but by who groomed them for the power they wield and helped them along when their own horsepower was not enough.
I think this may be a reason for Hillary's desperate moves. Panic. The big boys are calling in their chips and the Clintons aren't able to deliver them the Whitehouse.
