Apparently, The Right Wing Conservatives Were Correct All Along
The Clintons are lying, conniving, evil, vicious, corrupt opportunists who care nothing about this country or its citizens. They are merely in it for themselves and we must fight them at all costs.

At least, this is the impression I've gotten after following GDP for the last couple of months. Seriously people, can we keep our eye on the ball here? Yes, we should passionately make the case for our candidate of choice, but can we try to do that in a positive way? Don't tell me why someone SHOULDN'T be our candidate, tell me why someone SHOULD be our candidate. I'm not going to go on a job interview and tell the interviewer why they shouldn't hire the other guy - why he sucks, all the things he's done wrong, etc. I'm going to sell him on why I'm the right candidate for the job. Let's not win the battle at the cost of losing the war.

I got 3 very loud folks on the thread slamming me and 38 PM's from folks who agreed with me when I posted something similar a few days ago.

Netvocates crack me up - and the odd DUer fooled by them cracks me up even more.

3. No, some of us were against the Clintons back in the 90s
Had nothing to do with political ideologies and everything to do with character.

Oh, and I voted for Perot.

Gotta disclose that kind of stuff 'round these parts.

Personally, my vision hadn't penetrated to the character thing.
I just thought Bill was to much of a Republican for my taste.

6. You can make book on that.
In fact, people are, according to at least one thread around here somewhere that I'm too lazy to hunt up.

Funny how that works. You sounded so convinced in your reply! Oh, wait...this was probably your last night in GDP...you were just dropping in to tell us the race is over and that GDP is now a moot point. Does that about sum it up? :)

edit to fix unintentional smilies. who knew GD(colon)P made this? GD:P

13. No. The Far Right blamed the Clintons f/being masterminds when they're really just enablers
happy to sweep the NeoCons crimes under the rug and to keep the status quo pretty much intact... just as long as they get their slice of the pie.

9. The question is our monsters versus their monsters
Our monsters are merely borderline sociopaths. Theirs are full-blown ones.

I'll take the borderlines anyday.

14. Politics isn't binary.
GD:P would be so much more interesting, and intellectually productive, if more than a scant few posters realized that.

Ultimately, the right wing and the Clintons can both be in the wrong, for some overlapping reasons and some different ones, but they're both wrong just the same.

17. well, they were half right
the rightwing thought they were lying evil socialists whereas the blogosphere on the left thinks they are lying evil corporatists. Are we really supposed to believe that NAFTA, which President Clinton pushed through was supposed to empower the working class?
