Do You Remember When Bush Seemed Unbeatable?
I seem to remember 2002 at the very least as a period when it seemed Bush could go on for 3 terms if he wanted too. An ass-kiss media did nothing to allay my fears.

Yet it was 2002 when I turned to Kerry as the one to knock the bastard out of their. At once, I expected it and yet never in my wildest dreams did I ever think Kerry would be out ahead like he is these days.

I used to think of an election night party almost as a pipe dream, but I am seriously going to buy some really great liquor. It's going to be one hell of a night!

1. Yes I do
And it serves as a reminder as to just how quickly things can turn in politics.

We need to not get cocky and start talking about how great it will be come election night. We keep vigilant to insure a Kerry victory in November!

3. I agree with you Neder....
I'm not counting my chickens yet....

I mean, look how weird it was that Kerry came from way out of left field to get to the head of the line during the campaigning process. Geez, I didn't think he had a chance in hell there for awhile. Bing badda boom...there he is.

At any rate, Kerry has my vote no matte what. I'm hoping that Bush will implode before we even get to elections, just to be on the safe side.

Things might look "favorable" for Kerry, but anything could happen. I'm not letting my guard down yet. Donate, if you can, and write to him often.

4. bush was always beatable...
every time he opens his mouth, he goes down.

During the 9-11 fiasco, he ran away...his #'s went up, because America looks to a leader in times of crisis; no leader here.

He's making a complete fool out of himself again and again...he was always beatable....and he'll get the crap knocked out of him in Nov....:)

5. Not even very long ago, to me
At the end of last year, right after Saddam's capture, I though Bush was basically unbeatable. Granted, I'm usually a big pessimist anyway, but still, it's been a huge turnaround since then.

6. The idiot can still pull it off
Come October Bush will do something to turn this from a slam dunk to a real contest. I was very optimistic in 2002, but then Bush changed the topic to Iraq and screwing union members in homeland security. I guarantee you that Bush will find some way to put the Democrats on the defensive come October, only I believe this time that the Democrats may actually *gasp* fight back.

7. I think people are finally
realizing how ideologic this administration is--they don't act based on facts, but make facts fit their ideology. I think people are finally waking up to the myriad of problems this causes. The * administration is in some weird alternate reality. I think folks see that Kerry's a pragmatist--like all great Presidents have been.

9. It's still a polarized country.
Bush could announce he was firing up the ovens and still get 200 EV. (In a couple states, it would probably increase his lead...)

Everything that drives people nuts here -- the faux folksiness, arrogant aggression, and disregard for the Constitution -- is perceived as "strength" or "morality" in the high school dropout states.

He looked unbeatable in those states 6 months ago and still does. The election is going to turn on a handful of battleground areas, and a sitting administration always has a huge advantage when it can target just a few areas.
