not much Reagan anymore, it's about Kerry and the vp hype
all this vp talk coming out now is probably normal. the closer it gets to convention time which is around the time when vps are announced the more talk there is of it. there are so many conflicting things. some say more than 1 of the candidates have it. some say it's between any 2 combination of vps. there isn't much consistency in the rumors. although you can tell which people want certain candidates. and i think these are what are driving the rumors more than kerry himself.
i'm sure everyone will continue to debate on who is the best choice. although the only one who shows they can really help win the ticket is mccain and that isn't going to happen.
but i am glad it's about kerry now and not reagan. yesterday at kerry's afl-cio meeting speech one of the new jersey congressman even said that us democrats are not going to allow republicans to take alexander hamilton off the 10 dollar bill. just a while ago we were all afraid of reagan dying being a possible "october surprise". and when he died many were still worried about republicans trying to get political points from it. and they are trying but it doesn't seem to matter much. bill clinton is out there and promoting his book. clinton is the one who left office with positive ratings.and i think he would do a lot more for democrats than reagan's death will do for bush.
1. I know momentum swings like a pendulum, but Kerry and the Dems have it.
I am seeing lots of Kerry ads, and events are favoring us. Clinton's book will be HUGE - bookstores are going to open at midnight on the release date to start selling it. Then we'll have the VEEP bounce in early July, leading up to the convention.
Chimpy can still pull an October surprise, but I think it will be too late to turn the tide.
