Obama's phrasing and word choice was unwise and politically stupid. But, that being said...
what Hillary is doing is FUCKING AWFUL.

She is doing the same thing to Obama that the SBVT did to Kerry and Rove did to Gore: namely playing up false memes against Democrats.

It is unforgivable.

1. Obama's revealing this true opinions with these stupid comments.
I go back to the films of Wright's rants....that entire congregation was joining in on that horrid rhetoric---chanting, cheering, stomping, whooping. You can never convince me that the Reverend and the entire congreagation hid that behavior whenever Obama and Michelle sat in the pews for 20 years. That spew is what he's been seeing for 20 years and it's ingrained now in both their psyches. His rhetoric is pat, trite and condescending.

4. I'm white and I'd be chanting with Rev. Wright
because what the Rev said was True!! Unlike Hagee, Falwell, and Robertson, Wright is in the tradition of the Prophets of ancient Israel, many of whom were also viewed as traitors by the ruling elite of ancient Israel, who denounced Israel's corrupt leadership.

7. Obama feels what he said to the upper crust in SF is true also.
Both things have sunk his chances in the general.

23. Yeah, because Hillary MADE him make those stupid comments.
Just like she FORCED him to sit there for 20 years listening to Rev. Wright's hateful screeds.

It's all Hillary's fault that Obama sticks his foot in his mouth.

11. That is not true
This is mole hill politics being practiced by hillary. She and she alone is responsible for the damage done to the party.

15. Well, so do I.
Yes, believe it or not, voters have become disillusioned and bitter by being ignored by Washington for so long, and they resort to voting based on wedge issues like religion or guns.

Shocking, I know, but absolutely, 100% true. Too bad if Obama offended your delicate sensibilities by stating the truth.

21. True prophets are few and far between.
In other words, Wright ain't one. MLK was. Wright's just a wannabe prophet. And a hate-monger.

5. What Hillary is doing
is what politicians running for office DO. Obama stepped in it, tried to throw it back onto McCain and Clinton, then apologized, and then threw it back on Clinton again.

Obama's managed to throw the mantle of "elitist latte-drinking liberals" back onto the entire party, so I'm grateful that HRC's fighting back.

12. what other Democrat has called Gore and Kerry elitist?
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=aM9...

April 14 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said her rival, Barack Obama, was repeating the mistakes of the party's last two losing presidential campaigns by describing some voters as ``bitter'' over their economic status.

`You know, the Democratic Party, to be very blunt about it, has been viewed as a party that didn't understand and respect the values and the way of life of so many of our fellow Americans,'' Clinton said. ``We had two very good men and men of faith run for president in 2000 and 2004. But large segments of the electorate concluded that they did not really understand or relate to or frankly respect their ways of life.''

Past Campaigns

Clinton was referring to former Vice President Al Gore, who lost to President George W. Bush in 2000, and Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, who failed to beat Bush four years later.

16. I'll have to check back to 2004
because I'm sure one of the Democratic candidates made those kinds of remarks about Kerry.

"We had two very good men and men of faith run for president in 2000 and 2004. But large segments of the electorate concluded that they did not really understand or relate to or frankly respect their ways of life.''

She didn't call Kerry and Gore elitist, she said the country perceived them in that way. I believe the media did manage to sway large segments of the electorate into believing that that was the case.

22. You mean wind-surfin', Alps skiing Kerry? That elitist?
Yeah. He is one.

Gore is not an elitist, but during the 2000 campaign he came across as pedantic at times. Despite that fact, he still actually WON the election ...

9. I disagree with you and Obama
There was nothing wrong with his word choice. His opponents choice to twist his words and misinterpret his points is what's wrong. The rest of your OP I agree with.
