The Crowd let out a groan when Clinton brought up bitterness
Ron Allen just reported on Msnbc that the crowd let out a groan when Hill brought this up, I guess we are not the only ones getting tired of this story.

99. Wow
I served and was under water to the tune of 1000 feet or more and was not traumatized.

Got a service disability I am receiving excellent care through the VA and other than the disability in an off it's self I do not feel traumatized.

I do feel however taken for granted by most politicians.

When it is time to vote I am expected to anti-up and vote.

After that I am expected to remain quiet while the oh so smart politicians do the governing that people like me are way to unqualified (IE stupid) to accomplish.

And then they wonder why when they contact me and talk to me this election cycle they are amazed that I am cynical.:banghead:

The Alliance for American Manufacturing is a labor-management group composed of the United Steelworkers and steel manufacturers such as U.S. Steel. The group is largely concerned with Chinese trade practices that it holds accountable for the loss of 15,650 Pennsylvania jobs per year.

Mr. Obama talked about his roots working with steelworkers as a Chicago community organizer and plans to pressure China to regulate its currency. "America and the world can benefit from trade with China. But trade with China will only

In Pittsburgh, Obama says it's Clinton who's out of touch
Steelers' Rooney endorses Illinois senator
Monday, April 14, 2008
By Timothy McNulty, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Andy Starnes/Post-Gazette
Sen. Barack Obama speaks at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on Monday.Sen. Barack Obama began his remarks to the Alliance for American Manufacturing today by greeting his "good friend" and Steelers chairman Dan Rooney, and later deflecting criticism of his remarks on "bitter" Pennsylvania voters.

"You know, there's been a lot of talk in this campaign lately about who's in touch with the workers of Pennsylvania. Sen. Clinton and Sen. McCain seem to be singing from the same hymn book, saying that I'm "out of touch" -- an elitist -- because I said a lot of folks are bitter about their economic circumstances.

"Now it may be that I chose my words badly. And it's not the first time and it won't be the last. But when I hear my opponents, both of whom have spent decades in Washington, saying I'm out of touch, it's time to cut through their rhetoric and look at the reality," he said at a speech this morning to a labor-management group at the David L. Lawrence convention center.

The Illinois senator said he has been a Steelers fan since he was 10 years old. He said they are a "favorite" team of his, though he has "to root for the Bears when those two teams are playing."Despite that, the Steelers chairman released a letter endorsing Mr. Obama. "As a grandfather and a citizen of this community I think Barack Obama's thoughtful, strategic approach is important for America," the letter addressed to"fellow Pennsylvanians" said. "When I hear how excited young people seem to be when they about this man, I believe he will do what is best for them, which is to inspire them to be great Americans."

Clinton got booed...and there was no applause...when she made her cheesy remarks about Obama and his use of the word bitter.

However...when Obama spoke...at several times, he was cheered loudly along with strong applause.

Too bad you cannot deal with the truth.

Don't make assertions without the whole story if you can't take it when someone disagrees with you. In fact, don't post on a political discussion board at all if you don't like give and take because someone is going to refute your points.

And it wasn't for Hillary's comments, it was due to Obama's slamming there guns, religions, etc. That reporter needs to buy a CLUE.

91. O, 5O. C 51 new poll
Overall, among all voters nationwide, McCain is viewed favorably by 54% and unfavorably by 43%. Obama’s ratings are 48% favorable and 50% unfavorable. For Clinton, those numbers are 46% favorable, 51% unfavorable (see recent daily favorable ratings).

(I gave up after a while)

She keeps talking as though she is the only one offering solutions and no one else has anything to offer (except speeches).
I didn't hear all of Obama's, but I got the distinct impression that the applause was more frequent and more enthusiastic.

Oh, and she said Bill made a mistake in signing NAFTA...

...Even Bush Jr and Karl Rove, in the height of the political campaigns in 2000 and 2004, didn't sink to race-baiting and racist comments.

Hillary should be proud: She out-Roved Karl Rove.

Our Party, however, should be mortally ashamed.

81. To the folks that deny there was a poor crowd reaction, this would seem to refute that...
"But could today's response, from a large crowd here in Western Pennsylvania indicate the argument of Obama as elitist may work well with her supporters, but not with the broader public? Or is it, as NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reports, per the Clinton campaign, an organized effort in the crowd by Obama's union (SEIU) supporters."

If the Clinton campaign blamed the reaction on Obama's people, we can at least agree that it happened.

Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 12:46 PM by Juniperx
Sometimes crowds "boo" what's being said, in agreement with the speaker, and not the speaker. I'm not trusting the video I've seen because they cut away before the thought is finished so you can't tell if the crowd comes back with applause. This is one way video can very easily be taken out of context.
