OBAMA'S RESPONSE AD TO CLINTON'S NEWEST AD
What Obama needs to do ASAP in response to Clinton's "bitter" ad is hit her between the eyes and knock her out.

Suggestions

1. He needs to link McCain and Hillary in the same ad. Run an ad against BOTH of them. He needs to refer to McCain and Hillary as "they". "They" are the elitist. They don't think you are smart enough to see through their distortions. They are amongst the wealthiest Senate members. McCain owns 8 houses. Hillary has 109 million dollars collecting interest in the bank. THEY are the elite members. I come from a single mother home. My mother took foodstamps to feed me. I went to school on scholarships. "THEY" are the elitist.

2. Run a continuous loop of the Tale of Tuzla, Columbia trade deal connections, NAFTA (bring in Bill and what he did with Nafta--he will be part of her "reign" and he will have tremendous influence), document the lies and the cover up of the lies on tape and run it in a loop.

3. Run an ad with a split screen with Hillary on one side and McCain on the other side basically SAYING THE SAME THING about how Americans aren't hurting. Run the split screen with a supposed Democrat attacking another Democrat like a Repug. LINK HER TO MCCAINS HIP.

Make her the female version of McBush.

Any more suggestions?

14. He can do that too
but he needs to make her think twice about putting out another one of these hit pieces. Will you be advocating for Obama to play nice with McCain as well? I see no difference between Hillary and MCCain at this point. You cannot come off as weak or soft, or unable to hit back when needed. The attacks just get bolder if you come across as unwilling to defend yourself (See Kerry and the Swiftboat Vets).

That's politics. Obama won't preemptively attack anyone, but he if HE is attacked, he must defend himself.

Her falling numbers will do that.

Do you think pesky little things like "numbers" matter to Hillary? Hell, Hillary knows that she has NO CHANCE of getting this nomination by the numbers, yet, here we are.

She and Bill have both made millions on their book deals, he gets big bucks for speeches like any other former pres. Someday BO will have that much will that upset you? Politicians make good money. They should for all the guff they take. Most people couldn't take the heat.

I can't feel good about him doing that to Senator Clinton.

It hurts me to think of that, besides we could still have another President Clinton.

Calling her Annie Oakley was funny but I'd let her snuggle up to McCain all by herself.

17. I posted this in another thread but here are some suggestions
1. Obama wasn't being ELITIST; he was being EMPATHETIC. His comments were
just another take on Bill Clinton's famous "I feel your pain" comment(s).
He should stress that he wasn't criticizing these voters' behaviors, but was
just noting what appears to be happening in the country.

2. He can stress that we all need to work toward an America where prayer is
not a person's ONLY recourse during hard times. People SHOULD pray for their
family members' spiritual welfare and for emotional sustenance, but you should
not have to rely on prayer alone when it comes to food or a job or, in the case
of Hurricane Katrina, being rescued from a flood. Instead of relying on God
for miracles, citizens should be able to count on their government for certain
basic needs. Government has responsibilities and it has not been meeting them.

3. He can stress that we need to work toward an America where people not only
enjoy associating with those of their own kind -- and where they can safeguard
their ethnic heritage -- but where people are not AFRAID of those who may not
be like them, or resentful that those people may be taking opportunities that
they feel entitled to. In an America whose economy is strong and there are
plenty of opportunities for everyone, we are all less likely to be afraid of
our differences and to see our diversity as our strength.

4. He's already started doing this, but he needs to drive home that he's only
saying what many people have known for years -- this country's economy is in the
tank! It's not just Pennsylvania or Indiana or Ohio ... It's California and
New York and all over the country. While this administration has done its best
to bury its head in the sand for the past 8 years, and to "happy talk" its way
out of the growing discontent, he is facing it and calling it as he sees it.
Maybe "bitter" was the wrong word, but DISAPPOINTMENT and DISCONTENT are rife
in our country, and someone needed to give it voice.

1% of (approx.) 1600 is 16.

Care to explain how you put the difference in delegates in that ballpark? Considering that most sites have it at 10 times that number?

40. And I see it exactly opposite, of course --
that it's HRC that's been down and dirty and BO's defending against her attacks.

But that's to be expected since you're an HRC supporter, and I support BO. :)

This is one of those points I don't think we'll come to a consensus on.

And no matter which one gets the nom, s/he will be hit with much worse.

27. Good points. I have one more suggestion:
After the debate I suggest an "Obama small town/rural PA "listening" Bus Tour", where he just goes from small town to small town (I mean real small towns) and just meets with voters informally and talks with them, does Q&A, has dinner every night with a different family. But really spend time meeting *real* people. No big speeches or rallies, but makes it seem as if he really cares about what they have to say and their culture.

He doesn't have to admit that what he said was wrong or offensive. He just makes it seem as if he's open to being shown where he may have been wrong and admit that he's getting a better sense of what PA is like. Then at the end he can talk about it and how while there's bitterness, he's seen other things as well....you get the idea....

His focus should be on Western PA where they are more suspicious of him.

"Hillary Clinton says she's against the Columbia Trade deal, but how can she exercise independent judgment on trade when she's benefitted from nearly a million dollars in personal family income from President Clinton promoting that deal? She said she was against it as one of her closest advisors was working with the Columbian Government to pass this damaging trade pact. Hillary says she's not a free trade proponent in spite of her history of promoting NAFTA. Can you trust her?"

Start with an ad juxtaposing Hillary's sniper story with CNN's footage of her taking that poem from that girl in Tuzla, then at the end, have a caption "Your nose is growing, Hillary. Is this the kind of person we want in the Oval Office?" Hell, morph her into George W. Bush, to compare her to another pathological liar.
