Most Devastating Segment of Fahrenheit 9/11
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 01:15 PM by Quixote1818
Cant wait to see this scene!!! How many votes will this cost him?

The most devastating segment of "Fahrenheit 9/11" may be the video of a befuddled-looking Bush staying put for nearly seven minutes at a Florida elementary school on the morning of Sept. 11, continuing to read a copy of "My Pet Goat" to schoolchildren even after an aide has told him that a second plane has struck the twin towers.
.
Bush's slow, hesitant reaction to the disastrous news has never been a secret. But seeing the actual footage, with the minutes ticking by, may prove more damaging to the White House than all the statistics in the world.

2. I saw Moore on Letterman last night. . .
He agreed with Letterman that the film will probably not change the opinion of any BushCo supporter, but when they showed it to test audiences in the midwest, they polled them going in as to their political affiliations and presidential preferences. In an exit interview, they found that those who had said they were "on the fence" and hadn't formed an opinion yet had now "fallen off the fence" and were going to vote against Bush. Moore thought this change happened "about the third reel."

3. That is sort of interesting.
Bush and his lack of interest in things is just more than I can take. He is like a horse with blinders. One small subject at a time. I had a husband like that. High IQ but one thing at a time. You can just see our home a eating time with lots of kids and animals plus food and a wife. You had to have 10 things in the air and knowing what was going on. This man thinks of 1 thing only. It is crazy. Bush had to get back to plane for his nap on his pillow I guess.

9. I just watched it
WOW! When whoever came and whispered in his ear, he didn't flinch. He didn't turn to ask for any details. He didn't look around to see if his "team" seemed to be preparing for him to leave. NOTHING!!!!
If that doesn't say MIHOP or LIHOP, I don't know what does!

10. What did Andrew Card really whisper into Bush's ear?
Did Andrew Card really say what it is claimed? I have a feeling that he told Bush that Cheney was taking care of things, which would explain why Bush felt absolutely no need to react.

11. But even then
I would think he would have knodded or something. As it was, it looks like someone told him something that wasn't a surprise.

7. A great commercial
Imagine them talking about Bush being a great decisive leader then cutting to the scene at the Elementary School and bush looking like a buffoon.

6. RNC is playing that as "showing strength and calm" or some such...
They say he wanted to project being "in control," but how can anyone think it's being in control of anything to be sitting there, not knowing what's going on, not finding out what's going on, not doing a damn thing about what's going on...? I don't get it.

911: An American Requiem
About halfway through, it goes into a splitscreen of the WTC attacks and the president reading the goat book. Powerful stuff.
