What do you most like about Hillary?
I know there are a lot of people waiting to say what they don't like about her, but what qualities do you find most appealing about her, other than she is a woman? Is it her tenacity? Her honesty? Her integrity? Her intelligence? Her experience? Her husband? What do you find the most admiring about Hillary?

106. Dropped it like a hot potato after the RW backlash, didn't she?
Kennedy and Kerry picked up some of the pieces to craft SCHP. That she said she talked her husband into signing the bill is not particularly positive either. It shows HE was not committed to the healthcare debate in the first place, either.

Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 09:24 AM by Catherina
At this point, the only think I like is her absence. There was a time I admired her but that was long ago. I think the main thing I admired was her intelligence but now I realize she's not intelligent, just ruthless and wily.

so some of us are a little "bitter" these days.

Your perspective is shit-assed backwards. It's not my job to represent Obama, it's his job to represent me.

If you want "pretty pictures" spend some time looking at pictures of the million Iraqi adults and half million Iraqi kids who died while Hillary Clinton was pushing NAFTA through for her husband. And now she wants to come back with Madeleine Albright, the war witch who said the death of those half million children was worth it?

Millions of dead people tend to make me "snarky".

The hypocrisy of Clinton supporters talking to other people about online behavior is too ludicrous to pay any attention to. I'm sure you'll get over it.

Unfortunately, it's become rather discouraging that you never know if she's sincere or not because of her plays on that information.

For the war...against the war...whatever is popular and will win the most votes...until folks wise up to the game her credibility is shot and her track record shows.

130. I should have added, "...and that is no small thing." The intent of this
reponse involved the preservation of a vital legal standard, which Roe has come to represent, and properly so.

While it may be true that new generations of women are not aware enough of the work and commitment that went into support for Roe, there are surely among that group of women -- and men -- those who do realize it, readily acknowledge it, are grateful for its having been established, and are motivated to keep it in place not just for their life times but throughout the lives of their children and grandchildren, etc.

Senator Clinton, IMO, would not let those people down, and her SCOTUS nominees would reflect her admirable commitment to Roe.

11. That she can be "on the road" 24/7 and still manage to look cheerful.....
That she plugs on inspite of all the odds against her and seems to enjoy what she's doing.

And, I do think she thinks about policy in a detailed way and genuinely cares about people. But, she does seem to have some trouble with trusting and taking advice from all the wrong people. So...maybe she just likes to "dress up" and get on the road and give speeches ...and it's what she does the best.

51. Her attention to detail.
Take, for example, the Tax Returns and Senate Ethics Disclosures.

Does anyone remember the phony outrage about the delay of her 1040s? "Where are the tax returns, Hillary?????"

They were released and, guess what? Two bestselling authors, a US Senator, and a highly-sought Speaker made, on average, 13.5 million dollars a year for the past eight.

And even worse...10% of that went to charitable contributions. As opposed to the Barack Obama who gave far less than the national average of 2.2% until 2005 when they donated a whopping 4.6%.

You can't blatantly lie in the face of video evidence and expect to get away with it. Excellent example of how her FAILURE to pay attention to detail BIT HER IN THE ASS.

There's something wonderfully vaudevillian in that. You halfway expect to hear accompanying sound effects from offstage- like a clanging sound and alarms as the whiskey rattles past her gizard, then followed by a muffled explosion as it smacks down and detonates in her belly.
Maybe she will drop the shotglass on the bar and repetitively slap herself down the forehead like Curly Joe. Woop woop woop!

You know well enough that the usual assholes will ruin your post. It'll be a pleasure to watch their empty shell of a candidate be treated just as poorly in the GE, if he becomes the nominee.

104. I like her persistence, her attention to detail, and her continued optimism
As well as her ability to take a punch, especially when it's undeserved.

Among other things, she's had to deal with hecklers (as Bill did) all along the trail, and you can't tell me that a lot of them aren't planted (that booing in Pennsylvania the other night was very well scripted).

I saw her in person - it was late at night, she had only scheduled the appearance that day, and she went on to do two more (scheduled at the last minute) events the next morning. Of the three candidates, she was the only one who sat down for an interview with the local TV affiliate.

She was the only one to attend the State of the Black Union, even when she knew most of the people there were supporting her opponent - many of them openly. Yet she showed up, she smiled, she spoke well, and you could tell she was both glad to be there and that she still had to grit her teeth and gear herself up to go out in front of an audience that was lukewarm at best. I admired her more at that moment than I can say. As tough as it was, she put on a smiling front and did it. That is what I also want in a president.

She has been unfairly heckled and razzed so often. For those of you who watched the fundraiser they did in New York after 9/11, again, she was booed, completely unfairly, by the NYFD and the NYPD and their family members in the audience. She stood there bravely and staunchly, she smiled, she spoke, and she got off the stage. Those same people gave Rudy Giuliani a standing ovation. Seven years later, who stuck with them thick and thin and is still working to help them? Hillary, not Rudy.

She is constantly analyzed, scrutinized, reviled for every mistake, ignored when she does something well, and yes she comes back stronger each time. She is amazing.
