Hillary's "Dukakis in a Tank" Moment
Today the news appears to be that Hillary's last gamble to destroy Obama has failed.

Polls and pundits are indicating that the greater damage from the "bitter" controversy may be to Clinton.

Why?

In her efforts to exploit what she interpreted as an Obama gaff, she went too far.

Once again a picture is worth a thousand words.

The whiskey sipping/slugging photos of Clinton are becoming pervasive on the internet, on television ... this incident is being talked about everywhere when presidential politics is the topic.

These photographs may turn out to be Hillary's "Dukakis in a tank" moment.

A photo opportunity that gave voters a permanent visual image to Hillary being phony and pandering.

I now think she will lose Pennsylvania.

1. This will not be a factor even remotely
There are too many real, serious issues for the voters to worry about.

it's part of a pattern. By itself it would mean little but with the constant blunders by hillary and her camapign it has cumulative effect.

29. If that's true, then why does Hillary keep hammering this meaningless "elitist" meme?
Sounds like she's the one who needs to be focusing on real issues - you know, like the ones Obama was touching on when he made the "bitter" comments in the first place.

Hell, my former Army buddies and I (all girls!) can down real (Jack Daniels) not fancy-pants French Canadian (Crown Royal) whiskey in ONE GULP.

Sipping is a gutless way to take a shot ... she's not a part of the blue collar bar culture and it shows. :eyes:

9. I don't believe this is pandering.
She clearly knows how to get her drink on. You can't fake being a good drinker... that big fat shot of whiskey would come right back up in a flash.

I think what's more concerning is what Jon Stewart said last night... Do we really want a President that gives into PEER PRESSURE?!

Someone said, "how bout a shot of whiskey?" She said, "no". The crowd makes a few grumbly comments and suddenly she wants to bust out the crown royal. So desperate to be liked... it's sad.

Pandering for the non existent "person I'd like to have a beer with" voter is stupid but so is the Nazi MADD tactics. I could care less if the Presidential nominee enjoys a shot of whiskey, a draft beer or a glass of wine. I don't care if they choose not to drink at all but this damned if you do damned if you don't is nonsense.

One thing I can't stand is going out to dinner with my family and getting snotty looks if I order a beer with my meal. How dare I drink in front of my kids. You know who I have to thank for that? The idiot extremists with MADD mentalities. It was stupid pandering but Hillary can have a drink without the jerks in MADD screaming about "the children". Before you think I am some 12 pack a day drunk; I drink less than 6 beers a month.

Yes, it was a Dukakis moment. I hope she doesn't go hunting.
Barack had his moment on bowling night.

And W would have one if that swaggering, rootin', tootin' Yale cowboy wasn't afraid to get on a horse.
But there is that grainy video of him falling off of a Segway and he always has his own tongue to embarrass himself with.

What is with doing shots anyway? Just to keep up with the ole boys? Seen too many films noir? I don't think people over 22 years old do that many shots. You get something good, you just drink it and enjoy it. Shots.
