The Winner: Obama - Most Presidential
He took on the nonsensical press and kept on message, not descending to the gutter repuke politics that the Clinton campaign has mastered. Americans don't care about the "he said, she said" distractions. They want to know what will the candidate do for them and the country.

Bravo!

:applause:

3. He did more than fine, and she admitted being a liar.
Much worse than anything Obama has ever done.

18. Huh? She didn't admit lying?
And if you want to focus on someone who hates, maybe you should replay the debate where Hillary attacked Obama with Hannity talking points.

5. I am glad that he called the moderators on their attempts to distract.
He took control of the tenor to bring the issues back to the forefront.

7. I thought Obama kept it way more on the high ground than Clinton
She took every cheap shot the commentators opened up for her where Obama actually came to Clintons defense.

On the other hand I think on some of the questions on Policy Hillary was more detailed and focused.

Didn't switch my vote for Obama to Clinton though.

I guess that sums up my reason for voting for Obama. I like Clinton a lot on the issues, but I really am disillusioned with her campaign style.

9. There was sporadic applause for some points
but for the most part, it was a reserved audience - most likely by design.

10. He got his ass kicked
And as Hill supporter, I am being nice. I kind of got a little uncomfortable with the questioning though. Why did they bring the Weather underground connection? That was uncalled for.

14. The moderators spent an hour on nonsense
that has no bearing for "the people" and the "issues" that are most important. Eliminate that hour and one was left with 45 minutes of some issues, with sporadic "gotchas" inserted. It was a poorly designed debate. It essentially underscored the pettiness of Clinton, which is not going to play well for her.

15. I wouldn't go that far. Headline: Hillary Admits She Lied on Bosnia
They both had their weak points. Obama's was lack of detail on the issues IMO and Hillary was on lying and taking cheap shots.

Ironically I thought Obama was strongest defending the smears.

20. Ironically, she seemed to go back to the old characterization of Bosnia by referencing what
she wrote in her book... which still doesn't jive with the video.

16. Obama's campaign statement
A statement from Obama campaign manager David Plouffe: “Tonight we saw a real choice between the old politics of point-scoring and distraction and a politics that focuses on bringing us together to actually solve the challenges we talk about every single election. Continuing the theme of her campaign, Senator Clinton used every single opportunity she had to launch misleading attack after misleading attack against Barack Obama, which is why polls show that most Americans think she’s running the most negative campaign and don’t believe she’s trustworthy. Barack Obama spoke about the issues that actually matter in people’s lives, like how he plans to end the war in Iraq, cut middle-class taxes, help people stay in their homes, and provide a secure retirement for our seniors. That’s why more Americans are putting their trust in Barack Obama to bring about the change we need in Washington."

22. What we can do for Obama after tonight's farce
is donate. I just donated $50 and I'm a retired, senior citizen who's blazing mad at what I witnessed at this so-called debate! Go to donate.barackobama.com and someone will match what you donate. That's the only way to throw this crap back in the face of ABC that even though they can't do their jobs, he can still raise money!

23. I like Obama best
But they were both terrific. It's a shame one has to go home, because either one is so much better than McCain.

Hillary had command of specifics, while Barack had command of the message. It was a strong combination, ruined only by the inanity of ABC's inquisitors who seemed to be channeling Sean Hannity.
