2. I am proud irrespective of my melanin and genitalia
Please note: one should not infer from my subject line that I am not, in fact, inordinately proud of my genitals. I just don't see the political impact of their fine, delightful presense.

9. Yeah, we have a white woman and a black man...they have an old white man.
I can't understand why he is doing so good in the polls.

12. I understand why . . .
It's a perfect showing of the built-in advantage that white men still enjoy in our society. Hillary and Barack have to scrap and claw and work like hell just to get to where McCain is by default.

Talk about a head start!

19. Because our candidates are busy fighting each other instead of McWar.
He won't do so good in the polls once we have a nominee.

15. *ahem*
On January 25, 1972, Chisholm announced her candidacy for president. Standing before the cameras, she began her speech:

"I stand before you today as a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States. I am not the candidate of black America, although I am black and proud. I am not the candidate of the women's movement of this country, although I am a woman, and I am equally proud of that. I am not the candidate of any political bosses or special interests. I am the candidate of the people."

She made her bid for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination using the slogan "Unbought and Unbossed."

She received 152 delegate votes, but ultimately lost the nomination to South Dakota Senator George McGovern.

5. I proud to be an American that happens to be African American

And I am so uplifted by the message of CHANGE for everyone and not just more of the same.

I love working together with people of all colors and from all regions that have one common goal ~ business will NOT be "as usual" in this election.

11. Well, thank you!
I'll be proud of my country again when we stop this horrible war and start putting our resources into environmental protections and health care for all. Until then, I cry for my country.
