Hillary fails to file a full slate of delegates in PA.
HERE'S A LITTLE political banana peel.

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign failed to file a full slate of convention delegate candidates for Pennsylvania's April 22 primary.

This despite the possibility the primary proves critical and despite Clinton owning the full-throated support of Gov. Rendell, state Democratic Party leadership, Mayor Nutter and, presumably, the organizational skill all that entails.

And despite a Rendell-ordered extension of the filing deadline that could be viewed as more than just coincidental.

"There are a number of Clinton delegates that did not file for reasons of illness or other issues," Democratic state chairman T.J. Rooney conceded yesterday after being questioned by the Daily News.

Now I realize this story is a little old, but it does tell the truth of about how much of a shamble Hillary's campaign is in and her ability to organize in a huge must win state.

1. that is NOT an example of being Ready on Day One
if you're not even Ready on the Day of the Filing Extension.

Oh, it's the sound of Hillary snoozing through the hard work of actually running a competent campaign.

3. It's a perfect example of how poorly Hillary runs things
the only thing she has shown any skill in, is slime ball repuke attack style politics.

24. Well she also
Tells some pretty good "fairy tales". I kind of like the "Trip to Bosnia" one the best, but can't forget the "I was ALWAYS against NAFTA" one too! Got give her credit, nobody in the race can whip up a "yarn" like her!

4. Fast Eddie even extended the deadline for her. Because it was raining
and people may have had health issues being out in the rain.

I kid you not.

5. I know, and that is the irony of it. If the original deadline had been enforced she would.......
failed to file a full 30% of the delegates.

22. Her core of supporters are the (very) old line party hacks, and they are damned lazy
At least in SW PA, these same men and women have been holding on to the committeemen and committeewomen posts they got back in the 60's, at the same time they got jobs through their political machine connections or donations. The Committee people in turn control the state party. They have blocked two generations of voters from getting actively involved in the Dem. Party. They never had to really get off their collective butts and work elections, because the machine controlled who was invited to run in the primaries (seldom more than one candidate), and the Dem majority was so big, and everyone voted straight party tickets, so the general election was a mere formality. All the committee people did was show up at the polling places at prime time, hand out the brochure for the straight Dem ticket, and schmooze their neighbors. They became committee people to have access to municipal jobs and contracts for themselves, their friends and their relatives - NOT to go door to door, or organize phone banks or actively promote any candidates.

At this point, some of those committeepeople are too old and too financially strapped to handle being a delegate - but they don't dare enlist any new blood to fill those slots, because then those new people might presume to expect to replace the old committeepeople.

I moved to PA in '69, and have been active in politics since the George McGovern campaign. It is not uncommon for the party hacks to campaign AGAINST a dem candidate, if that candidate was not part of the machine. They campaigned against McGovern, that's for sure. When you contact them on behalf of a Congressional, Senate or presidential campaign - they act like they're doing you a big favor to let you canvass in their area, and to put one sign in their yard.

I think a good committee person should go door to door every two years, and in not too long a time become well known to all the people in their Ward. That takes a fair amount of energy, so energetic people in adequate physical condition should have those responsibilities. I think they should have a standing list of Dems in their ward whose homes make great locations for yard signs. Committee people should also have outgoing, friendly personalities, i.e, work and play well with others.

Why worry about PA when she had it in the bag?

This is the kind of "leadership" we could expect from Hillary as President.
