Tired of Hillary Am I - this is why!

Why Women Hate Hillary
She reinforces the Genghis Khan principle of American politics that our leaders must be ruthless and macho

http://www.inthesetimes.com/article/3129/why_women_hate_hillary/

Some here in this forum seems mystified why a woman who is a lifelong feminist and Democrat would NOT support Hillary Clinton.

Well, try as I might - I can't seem to make it clear to some here.

I really don't like her - this article says it better than I can.

And thank goodness, I finally have found a candidate I CAN support - it's not a woman - and no one was initially more surprised than I to learn that I won't ever vote for her.

She can stay senator for all I care. But that's up to NYers.

2. If women hate Hillary so much...
...why the hell do they vote for her in overwhelming numbers?

This article makes no sense.

4. None of the women I know ... all middle aged and blue collar ... are voting for Hillary
None.

Most self-identify as feminists.

5. Sounds as though you are just pushing her
no new facts.

I don't know anyone who is seriously active who intends to vote for Hillary.

Those who will vote for her tell me - because it may be my only chance to vote for a woman for President.

Not a good reason, IMO.

7. "Overwhelming Numbers"?
You mean, like 80%?

90%?

Uhm, that hasn't happened.

3. To assume a feminist is going to be sexist is somewhat amazing, isn't it?
I don't vote for gender; I vote for the person. I want the candidate who will do what's best for all people, including men.

Condi Rice could be running -- I wouldn't vote for her either.

6. Precisely.

it's about the candidate.

But more than that, in this case, I've been genuinely disappointed by Hillary Clinton.

This article explains one of the many nagging doubts.

I fear she's doing to future women candidates what she did to the cause of health care in the United States with her secret stealth campaign in 1993.

She's making it worse.

8. Wow, great article.
It did sum up some of the problems I've had with her (besides her lack of honesty, which is #1 for me). I'm a Gen Xer, though, and I don't support her (the author said she gets most of her support from my generation, people between 31 and 42).

10. That article was written almost a year ago, and reflects what is being seen today.
"Women don’t trust Hillary. They see her as an opportunist; many feel betrayed by her."

"If it would be so revolutionary to have a female as president, why does she feel like the same old poll-driven opportunistic politician who seems to craft her positions accordingly?"

"We don’t want the first female president to be Joe Lieberman in drag, pushing Bush-lite politics. We expect something better."

"After the dark ages of this pugnacious administration, many of us want to let the light in. We want a break with the past, optimism, and a recommitment to the government caring about and serving the needs of everyday people. We want what feminism began to fight for 40 years ago—humanizing deeply patriarchal institutions. And, ironically, we see candidates like John Edwards or Barack Obama—men—offering just that."
