Rev. Wright to Appear on “Bill Moyers Journal”
I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

http://thepage.time.com/2008/04/21/rev-wright-to-appear-on-bill-moyers-journal/

Obama’s former pastor sits down with the PBS newsman for Friday’s broadcast.

First interview since his controversial sermons became a major campaign issue. Wright is also expected to address the National Press Club and the NAACP’s Detroit branch later this month.

2. For some reason they always put Bill Moyers on at 11:30 at night
and never repeat the program. I always have to catch it online.

Good news

3. Bless him. I hope he is careful.
I hope that his public appearances will help appease the controversey more than Geraldine Ferraro's media tour did, haha

4. Moyer interviewing Rev. Wright
He is the last of the real journalist. Course he was scuttled off MSM to PBS. At least we can hear him there. Why bush has allowed him that spot is surprising since he has allowed his cabinet to diminish PBS. This I have got to watch.

Thanks NYCGirl, please remind us on Friday!!

5. How is it that
Pat Robertson can be featured in an ad with Al Sharpton, but everyone is still pretending Wright is a pariah?

Views concerning feminism, homosexuality, abortion and liberalism

Robertson is opposed to abortion and same-sex marriage.<5><6>

He has described feminism as a "socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."<7> Many of Robertson's views mirror those of the evangelical activist Jerry Falwell, who made frequent appearances on The 700 Club. He agreed with Falwell when Falwell stated<8> that the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks were caused by "pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays, lesbians, the American Civil Liberties Union and the People For the American Way."

After public outcry regarding the dialog, which was conducted via television monitor and took place only days after the attacks, Robertson claimed that his earpiece was malfunctioning, and that he was unaware of what he was agreeing with at the time.

On the June 8, 1998 edition of his show, Robertson denounced Orlando, Florida and Disney World for allowing a privately sponsored "Gay Days" weekend. Robertson stated that the acceptance of homosexuality could result in hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, terrorist bombings and "possibly a meteor."<9> The resulting outcry prompted Robertson to return to the topic on June 24, where he quoted the Book of Revelation to support his claims.

While discussing the Mark Foley scandal on the October 5, 2006 broadcast of the show, Robertson condemned Foley saying he "does what gay people do".<10>

7. It's amazing what the Right Wing Radical Reverends/Preachers
can say and get by with it. They are Hateful, in the truest sense of the word, and they are dismissed by the media with a few quotes that go away by the next day.

10. I agree. Rev. Wright does not deserve to be demonized by the right wing and
"others" (even taking into consideration some of the more controversial statements).

20. I think it hurts
Many will try to twist whatever he's going to say. Rev. Wright is also scheduled to speak before the National Press Club. I think this is an even bigger mistake.

I know he wants to redeem his reputation but I don't think a lot of people are able to allow this.

22. I tend to agree with you.
I think many are too close-minded to ever change their opinion of him, even though they are wrong.

Plus his words will be twisted and simply reminding the voters of him negatively impacts Obama.

21. I think it helps. Rev. Wright is not the monster the right wing or the Clinton
campaign paints him to be. The more people get to know him, the more they'll come to realize this.
