Yes, Hillary Clinton allowed Bin Ladin to escape
If the US government had been on track after 9/11 and spent the time and money tracking down Osama Bin Laden and bringing him to justice instead of going into a futile war with a country that wasn't even related to Osama Bin Ladin or 9/11 - but guess who was the supporter of this blind following of George W. Bush - yes Senator Clinton, that same person who is using the Osama Bin Ladin/Emmanuel Goldtaein ads in PA.

It is really scurrilous.

I'm glad Senator Barack is fighting back.

"Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the ad "plays the politics of fear." And he said Clinton is to blame for allowing bin Laden to escape by supporting war in Iraq and diverting the U.S. military.

"It's ironic that she would borrow the president's tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points," Burton said.

7. Of course not. It was more simple: she simply cast her vote for war with anybody but Al Qaeda

12. I heard years ago,
that it was felt that we needed more support/action in Afghanistan, but Clinton was in the middle of the Lewinsky debacle, and didn't want to alienate the public by making a move that could be unpopular.

11. I agree 100%. It left the boogey man there for later use.
She is an authoritarian Democrat. She will use war as a means of Power, just like chimpy. She would use a war to prove herself.

No thank you, Hillary.

23. Crap.
I'm not a Clinton supporter, but I really think you need to rein in that kind of rhetoric.

The Bush administration has been completely wrong-headed and ineffective in every way regarding bin Laden. Yes, the Senate has also done a poor job in that arena, especially in working against the Bush gang's idiocy. Clinton may not be my choice, but she is not responsible for "allowing bin Laden to escape." That's republican shit.

Obama should fight against unfair attacks, but let's not get all carried away here.

25. why would Bush and his followers invade another country when
they should have been hunting down the people who carried out 9/11?

This is not rhetoric as the American people were lied to. Hillary Clinton chose to be part of this.

24. well goodness, Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2003?
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 11:26 PM by BenDavid
Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2004, at Kerry's convention? Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2005? Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2006? Where was Obama's anti-war filibuster in 2007? Was stopping the war worth standing up, Barack? Where was Obama's anti-war filibuster in 2007? Was stopping the war worth standing up, Barack? Perhaps HRC is asking, "If he's got more than a 2002 speech - where is it?"

I suppose if all you saw in that ad was osama then you over looked the message of the ad. Of all the bad things that happened to America, bin laden is part of that too and still alive and active. So, you are critical of osama appearing for 1.5 seconds of the entire ad. WoW! It was a damn good ad. Right to the point and as my first post said if obama has more then a 2002 speech, where is it?

29. It IS disgusting that Osama Bin Ladin has been lost
anybody who voted for the war in Iraq is responsible for the persistance of Al Quaeda. This terrorist organization was not in Iraq before the US and its allies invaded it. The job should have been carried out to the full in Afghanistan and OBL hunted down. this irresponsible side tracking has not made the US safer.

and she was using OBL in her ads when she was the one who supported Bush in side stepping catching OBL.

no one is talking about Bhutto (irrelevant to the topic).

33. Not irrelevant--he is using the same talking point.
He voted to support the war on numerous occasions. So, there for it is his fault too.

But, lets not let facts interfere with a good lying distorted talking point.
