In less than four more years, Obama can join AARP
Just a note to remind all those who are participating in the hatred of seniors:

In four years, Obama will be one of THEM.

Eligible for AARP.

It's odd that he admits that he can't connect with them now, since he's almost that age.

indeed there's concern about how to better reach them. oth, there's contempt and worse out Camp Clinton for AA voters, young voters, and states that didn't vote for the Queen of Obliteration. And AA voters are very reliable.

For Obama to acknowledge that he is not reaching as many of them as he would like is not disdainful or disrespectful. I'll take his stance over the remarks of some people on the other side any day.

Thats what I am taking issue with, and the fact that you conveniently mangled his statement in the NYT to suit your own purposes.

The fact that he will be a senior in 4 years is a fact and I am not insane to argue over something like that. I am just requesting you to defend the claims you made with integrity, thats all. My intention is not to offend you. Sorry if I came on too strong.

40. I just think that my idealism (even at 50) is akin to the younger voters
who support Obama. I am TIRED of fighting the same political
battles (liberal vs. conservative/hawk vs. dove/hippie vs.
establishment) that have gone on since the '60s. I think the
younger voters -- those who see the world more as the "United
Colors of Benetton" than left/right or black/white, and who
support Obama by such large numbers -- speak for me more than
those who want to carry on the same fights, who feel it's
"time for a woman," who yearn for the "Clinton era" and
who DON'T object to "politics as usual."

A better question is: Whatever happened to your Woodstock
idealism? When did you become so cynical?
