Rush Limbaugh Calling For Riots In Denver (And A survey)

Talk Show Host Wants America To See Actions Of 'Far Left'

POSTED: 11:37 am MDT April 24, 2008
UPDATED: 2:19 pm MDT April 24, 2008

DENVER -- Talk show host Rush Limbaugh is sparking controversy again after he made comments calling for riots in Denver during the Democratic National Convention this summer.

He said the riots would ensure a Democrat is not elected as president, and his listeners have a responsibility to make sure it happens.

"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats," Limbaugh said during Wednesday's radio broadcast. He then went on to say that's the best thing that could happen to the country.

12. Actually, yes it is.
It is one of the few cases when the US government can exercise prior restraint of free speech.

18. I think you have to be part of a group; I don't know if it can be as
an individual...but I'm no lawyer, so not sure...but one would hope so.
Of course, Limpballs should have been arrested and imprisoned for crimes long ago; even if incitement to riot IS a crime, he'll never be charged. He's too valuable a tool for the Reich Wing.

24. It seems like the radio station's broadcast license could be revoked.
Having a radio personality inciting riots is way out of bounds.

19. Incitement to riot is indeed a crime.
Can we prosecute the son-of-a-bitch and take him off the air?

30. His Ego is par with
Bill O'Reilly and Hillary's.

I heard him on talk radio yesterday while waiting to go in for a Dentist appointment. I could not believe the credit he gives himself for what's going on in the Democratic party. If that wasn't enough there was an actual "call" from one of his foot soldiers awaiting further instructions!

7. I don't care what Rush says.
If Hillary gets the nomination I'm fucking rioting.

It will be a pretty lonely riot, since I can't afford to go to Colorado.

But I'll do my part.

9. Inciting riot is a CRIME.. c'mon..arrest this buffoon..
Too bad his sponsors & broadcasters (ABC) don't have a conscience..

This is BULLSHIT.. and if he's inciting riot involving the presidential candidates' convention.. he would be wise to remember that the SECRET SERVICE frowns of things that potentially threaten their safety... That would nake it FEDERAL?? NO??

Freedom of speech stops when talking about harm or violent uprising.

25. The radio station needs its license threatened.
They need to take him off the air.

Some may not agree with me, but I think incitement to riot is FAR worse than insults - even the kind of insults that got Imus canned.

he was actually calling for riots but rather hoping that the "recreate '68" group turned angry and did his bidding for him.
