Is this another Hillary "Mispeak"?
Okay, for weeks Barak had to explain his "bitter"ness statement! I still do not see how people can take anything negative out of it. But, that is either here nor there! However, I just came across a quote Hillary said while she was the first lady. This statement is more cut and dry than Barak's! How come this is not getting anywhere near the press "bitter"gate is? There seems to be a huge double standard!

For those who has not heard or read the statement, here it is:

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/04/17/907891.aspx

In January 1995, as the Clintons were licking their wounds from the 1994 congressional elections, a debate emerged at a retreat at Camp David. Should the administration make overtures to working class white southerners who had all but forsaken the Democratic Party? The then-first lady took a less than inclusive approach.”

“‘Screw 'em,’ she told her husband. ‘You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them.’ The statement -- which author Benjamin Barber witnessed and wrote about in his book, ‘The Truth of Power: Intellectual Affairs in the Clinton White House’ -- was prompted by another speaker raising the difficulties of reaching ‘Reagan Democrats.’”

1. come on. The same rules do not apply to her.
Never did. and shame on you for suggesting that plebeian rules for normal people would EVER apply to the annointed one, the special one, the inevitable one, the queen bee herself.

2. Hillary is a "scrappy fighter", so she's allowed to utter stuff like that.
But Obama is an "elitist", so he must refrain from saying.... anything.

3. Her misspeaking doesn't count.
She's not an uppity, elite, muslim extremist, christian radical, black man running for president in order to have black people take over the country.

17. Well Hillary has made her vast "experience" central to her campaign.
So the OP is looking at her "experience". Why would any Hillary supporter object to that?

18. You make a great academic point. You really do.
But reasonable people can tell the difference between something carefully crafted words used at a fundraiser and something said in anger at Camp David.

would consider Obama's comments very differently from the way many, including the MSM, Hillary, and apparantly you do.

26. You're a Hillary supporter, so I don't expect you to be reasonable.
And in fact I don't care what you think of Obama's words.

Content yourself with a candidate who supports and enables immoral wars for her own selfish reasons, makes up stories about sniper fire, and who regularly stabs Democrats in the back.

15. Evidently. This story died a very quick death. Notably, only Katie Couric covered it!
The media is suppressing this story. If you missed it, here is the video. Segment begins about 9:35 on the tape.

I can't imagine having to be responsible for the actions of every other Caucasian. No one asks me to explain why Bill O'Reilly is a dick, even though we're both from Irish Catholic backgrounds.

14. For What It's Worth...

This quote has appeared in the news. I can't recall which book it came from. Her campaign completely denied that it happened. I think they even swore an oath on it with one hand in the air and the other hand on a copy of "It Takes a Village."

There were one or two sources who directly heard this. But that makes it a "he said/she said" thing, and there is only so much time the media has to spend on Clinton scandals.

that would be a whole different story. As it is, it's somebody's report of the incident. I hate it when people go to town on "as recollected by" reports.

with her "sniper fire" LIE - over and over.

This is good stuff, but without a loop of video/audio it doesn't help much.
